We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Powers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Well honestly for starters I never thought I would be a proud business owner of ‘’Itz The Hair’’. What made me look into the industry of beauty, was after receiving quality of hair that I was not quite satisfied with. I began my journey by looking into different vendors, that was a long exhausting process. Some may think that once you find a vendor that’s the finished product, but that’s not the case at all. It’s more behind the scenes than some may assume, you really have to put in work to make your brand. For instance, I had to try out numerous of vendors in order to find the quality of hair I wanted for my brand. For example, I was my own model, I would wear different types of hair to showcase my brand. That way I could factor out which would work best for my company . It took me about 2 1/2 years to find the right fit. Itz the hair aims for great quality hair with affordable prices. I wanted my brand to be known for quality hair that is lasting, which can be use for 3 years or more with proper maintenance.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Itz The Hair’’ offers Wigs, Bundles, Tape-In’s, Clip-In’s, coloring, Wig reconstruction and customization. When you shop with ‘’Itz The Hair’’, We ‘’ Let Your Hair Do The Talking ‘’. What sets me apart from others is the quality of hair and affordable pricing I offer. My brands quality, is what makes me stand out from the rest. What excites me the most is when my clients receive their product, and know that they are receiving great quality for an affordable price. Becoming a business owner it’s never an easy task . Challenges will arise , and it’s up to me to perfect my brand to its highest potential. Your brand is a reflection of you and what your make of it .I want the world to know “Itz The Hair” is here to stay , and I’m looking forward to what’s next to come.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost I would like to thank God for allowing me to come this far, because with him all things are possible. I would also like to shoutout my clients for riding along with me on this journey and supporting my business. Lastly I’ll like to give a special shoutout to my family, and my best friend Chumika “Meek”Williams better known as Retwisted by Meek. I know this is only the beginning of what is to come and I’m looking forward to it all. I’m not where I want to be for my business, but I will keep pushing until I’m content with my business goals. What keeps me going will always be my supporters. Seeing the smile on their faces and knowing they now have quality hair, is a real satisfaction. I really enjoy selling hair extensions, it brings me happiness. We all know it’s not just a look people go for, “Itz The Hair”.
