We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrea Sok and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrea, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After years of working in marketing and PR and witnessing how these two areas didn’t collaborate I wanted to bring both sides of the house under one roof and offer a new way of communicating. By combining traditional PR with influencer marketing into a new method, Influencer PR™, we provide our clients more options and more opportunities for their message to be seen and heard.

What should our readers know about your business?
Sok Influencer PR is a firm grounded in storytelling. We practice Influencer PR™, a method I developed after 15 years working in marketing and communications. We help our clients craft their story and then find the best voices and vehicles to deliver that story authentically. Sometimes that voice is a journalist and that vehicle is a media outlet. Other times that voice is an influencer and the outlet is a digital channel. More often than not, it is both! We are surrounding the target audience with that key message and this ensures the best return on investment for our clients.

I am most proud of the results we deliver for our clients and how we really become a part of their small business, startup, or nonprofit. We are in the business of supporting their growth and I love to help passionate people achieve their goals.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Defintely Masraff’s for dinner and drinks. Fantastic food- a great family owned spot.

I love to spend an afternoon walking around Montrose. I alwasy find unqiue one-of-a-kind items and delicious food there.

Rothko Chapel is also a tranquil and uniquely beautiful place to visit.

Finally, not a destination, but must-see organization is the Girls Empowerment Network. They are a fantastic nonprofit organization that hosts conferences and volunteer projects that benefit girls in grades 3-8. They are doing great work throughout Houston.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends and former colleagues were supremely supportive of the launch of my business. They jumped in when needed and they still continue to cheer me on. I am also grateful for my former health coach, Chelsea Reinbold. During one of our weekly check-in calls she asked me, “When are you going to take the leap and launch your business?” I floundered back and forth and she said, “Let’s set a date. Right now. What is the date you will launch?” We set the date and I was out on my own within a month of that target date!
