We had the good fortune of connecting with Khalid Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Khalid, what makes you happy? Why?
Living and loving life to the fullest. Even more so with the people I love, but I wish it for everyone, because nothing makes me happier than helping and, or seeing others experience happiness.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Music is my truest outlet and deepest form of expression. Without my therapy it would be detrimental to my overall well-being. When I set out to be an artist I vowed to keep my morals, ethics and etiquette in tact, alongside character and integrity. Never wanted to get lost in the maze of monstrous fame and success. I strive to take care of my loved ones and teach them/others how to believe in themselves. I’m proud to have made so many accomplishments, but it never changed who I really am at the core. After 15 years of chasing my dreams I finally obtained a significant deal with an awesome independent label. Can’t help but be super grateful. I have put every bit of blood sweat and tears into years of a crazy rollercoaster of failures and achievements. Nothing about it was easy, but if you keep your faith and purpose first the universe finds ways to assist and teach you how to navigate. I’ve learned that progress is a process and the journey is what makes it all worth it in the end. You can’t give up on what moves your soul no matter how hard it gets. Nothing is ever guaranteed, so do your best to every chance you get. Know your worth and morals that way you never betray them. I want the world to know that I am determined to alter the musical landscape entirely. I truly love the art and the culture that facilitated it. Substance is critical to me, so I do my best to incorporate some form of a powerful message. I am not your average artist by any means, but have love and respect for all, regardless. We built from the ground up and I’ve worked tirelessly for every blessing that ventures this way. You can be, do whatever you put your mind, heart & soul to. Always wishing the best for everyone.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely want to visit the gathering place! It’s notably the biggest park in the country, which is great for a nature lover like myself. I personally don’t like to go out much, but there are plenty things to do in my city. There’s popular bars, restaurants, parks, comedy clubs, community centers, downtown activities and more. I would have to play it by ear most likely. I’m more of a chill with a small group of close people kind of guy.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a massive shout out to everyone that has ever helped or supported me in any variation(s). I wouldn’t be who nor where I am without the assistance of many key players. Not a second goes by where I forget this reality. My mother specifically told me to never give up no matter what, which certainly keeps me pushing. R.I.P to my number 1 and many thanks to everyone who has ever given me time.
