We had the good fortune of connecting with Craig Blackmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Craig, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
At a young age I believed that limits were placed on the normal “9-5” structure, I don’t like limits. I knew at a you age I didn’t want those constraints so it was always apart of my end game.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am 1/1, we all are in reality. However do we truly understand that? Well my dynamic upbringing help mold a creative open minded sponge that seeks knowledge. My journey through life is an exact replica of my business journey, nothing comes easy and I don’t want it if it does. The grit comes in overcoming challenges and and obstacles, that’s my skin in the game. I’ve learned to be patient yet steadfast in everything I do, which I don’t always get right initially but I’m growing to that. I want the world to know that I am an advocate of positivity and peace in a world fueled with doubt. I believe we all are created to be Great!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
When I meet anyone I tell them I’m on the welcoming committee for Houston, newcomers lol. I love my city, we are a “hotspot”.
In my opinion, to catch the right vibe for a time in Houston. Come on a Wednesday and a grab a drink at Joey’s or Moxies in the galleria area. If you enjoy amazing art, head over to the museum district and check out some exhibits, The Houston Musem of African American Studies always brings some flavor you can enjoy. But Sunday is the day we Turn up, our Sunday Fundays have became legendary around the south, I stand by em, I GUARANTEE lol. Weighed you choose Eado (East Downtown) , uptown, Washington, midtown you will find a good bite to eat and nice atmosphere. During NFL and NBA seasons you can get a good vibe out in the suburbs of tomball at little Woodrow’s. So whatever you want we got it here.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shoutout my family and support system. Everything in life I have to attest to the understanding in the growth of them throughout my life. My mother was a extremely caring, loving, nurturing woman which taught me soft skills, while my father taught me hardworking, accountability and the value of a man’s word. I use those teachings in everything I do. I’m truly grateful for my village.
