We had the good fortune of connecting with Astrid Patino and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Astrid, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
After my second daughter was born, I knew I wanted to do something for myself, but I wasn’t sure what. I wanted to stay present for my kids, have the flexibility to be home when needed, manage my own time, and still be productive, so starting my own business felt like the best option.

When 2020 hit and so many people began turning to social media, I thought: this is it! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, I love sharing what I know, and I’m passionate about teaching and helping others. So, I decided to start my own page.

I began by sharing tips on making your own cleaning products (something that became very relevant as people were extra focused on cleanliness for obvious reasons.) I centered my content around living a healthier lifestyle with fewer toxins inside the home. I also realized there wasn’t much information available on this topic for the Spanish-speaking community, which made me even more confident that I had found the right path.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is all about empowering women, especially busy moms, to take control of their health and their environment by reducing the toxic load in their homes and everyday lives. I offer education, tools, and hands-on services that help women confidently detox their homes, understand product labels, and create healthier spaces for themselves and their families.

What sets me apart is that I make this journey achievable, not overwhelming. Instead of focusing on fear or guilt, I focus on education, step-by-step support, and real-life solutions that work for modern families. I also go beyond general advice by offering an in-depth program: A Home Detox for those who want to be held hand in hand to turn their homes into a low-toxic environment.

Getting to where I am today definitely wasn’t easy. Like many small business owners, I faced self-doubt, changing algorithms, and the challenge of standing out in a very busy and full of “specialists” platform like Instagram. I overcame those obstacles by staying focused on offering my community a close friend to rely on. I wanted to make sure that my community felt supported, heard, and empowered. Over time, that trust helped build a loyal audience and steady growth.

Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned are that consistency always wins, that being yourself is what sets you apart from the rest, and that it’s better to go deep and serve your niche really well than to try to be a more general advice person.

What I want the world to know about my brand is that it’s not about chasing some impossible “perfect” lifestyle! It’s about realistic, sustainable, powerful changes that genuinely improve quality of life. I’m living proof that small shifts add up, and I’m honored to guide others on that journey.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would love to take her to many chill places I love!

First place would be close to home for a great workout at Orange Theory Fitness in Fulshear! We can go after for breakfast or brunch to Kona Roastery in Cinco Ranch. I love the musubis they offer and of course their matcha latte!

Another day we could go to downtown and stop by Discovery Green to walk around and grab a bite at Rodeo Goat (such amazing burgers there!). We could also go around the Museum District and visit any exhibition they may have there, finishing up by going to Hermann Park. It’s so pretty there!

On the next day, I would take her around Montrose area to La La Land Kind Cafe and grab the best matcha lattes and have breakfast there as well.

Karbach Brewery Co. is also a fun place to visit. Live music, being outdoors and grabbing a bite as well!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give the biggest shoutout to my amazing Instagram community! You’ve been with me since day one! Trusting my advice, cheering me on, and sharing your own wins along the way. Your messages, kind words, and success stories light me up and remind me why I do this. Thank you for being so loving, supportive, and open to learning alongside me. You’re truly the heart of everything I’ve built.
