Meet Lydia | Business Coach & Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Lydia and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Lydia, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
People matter. Relationships matter. Helping others matters. This is why I started my business and why I love what I do. In business coaching, I want to be an integral part of the success of others. I want to see others grow and expand outside their comfort zones to be the best version of themselves. I want to see them achieve success they have only ever dreamed about in their business, and sharing that success with their team, their clients, their family and friends.
I approach business coaching with 5+1 focus points; marketing, sales, team, operations, finance + mindset. I care as much, if not more, about the business owner and their wellbeing than with just the business making money and growing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
To be honest, I am where I am today because of a random leap of faith, career change I made in 2016. I graduated with a degree in Architecture and met someone looking to hire a marketing person for a business coaching firm. He was someone I had gotten to know through networking and at the time was the #1 in the world in business coaching. My husband and I were both in architecture and we thought maybe it would be a good idea to diversify. If worse came to worse, I could always go back.
After being hired to do marketing for the business coaching firm, I quickly realized what I wanted to really do was become a business coach myself. I loved seeing business owners come into the office, usually feeling run down or frustrated, and leaving with a smile on their face after getting some guidance and advice from our coaches. I wanted to be a bigger part of that.
After working with the company, getting lots of training and officially getting certified as a business coach and executive coach I had a lot of challenges with my identity as a coach. After all, my degree was in architecture, what did I know about business? Turns out, I knew a lot! Over the years I had learned not only the key principles of how to successfully grow a business, but even more about relationships and mindset.
Anyone can google how to grow a business. There are endless business books, courses and podcasts to consume. What makes me unique is that I care more about the business owner and team than just the success of the business. Yes, they go hand in hand in most cases, but I focus on how can I help the business owner as a person, so they can be the best version of themselves in order to implement the strategies to the best of their ability to grow the business.
The biggest piece of advice I can give to anyone in the business world is just to care about people. Be curious. Be compassionate. Be empathic. Be helpful. Just give, give, give and it will come back to you tenfold.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
100% my husband, Ben Navo. He is one of the hardest working people I know and launched his own business a few years before me and has really taken off. His dedication an work ethic is honestly baffling to me. He is so dedicated to his company, clients and team and I admire that. Not only that, but he is constantly pushing himself out of his comfort zone and growing as the business grows.
Plus, he is so supportive of me and my endeavors with my career and our family. I would not be anywhere near where I am without him.
