Meet Jamesia Riddle | Director and Head Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jamesia Riddle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Jamesia, what matters most to you?
I value building leader skills and self esteem. Cheerleading gives my athletes a chance to grow their confidence, take responsibly, and supporting others while first believing in themselves.

What should our readers know about your business?
KC Superior Cheer, Inc was founded with one mission: to empower young athletes through the art of cheerleading. Our program is dedicated to building confidence, leadership, teamwork, and athletic skill in a positive and supportive environment.
Cheer has always been my passion. I loved to cheer and dance growing up, but I wasn’t naturally skilled at dance—so I leaned fully into cheerleading. I was heartbroken when I didn’t make my middle school cheer squad, but I didn’t give up. I discovered recreational cheer—where no tryouts were required, just a passion to learn and grow. I admired those teams deeply, though I didn’t get the chance to join one myself.
Eventually, I made the varsity high school cheer team and never looked back. In my senior year, I was even offered a coaching opportunity at cheer camp to coach in college, but I chose to attend an out-of-state college. Unfortunately, due to miscommunication, I missed both tryouts to cheer for at my out of state college—an unexpected turn that pushed me into a new purpose: coaching recreational cheer.
I coached two recreational teams before launching my own—Kansas City Superior Cheer—in 2016/2017. From then until 2020, I coached the youth throughout Kansas City, cheering for local football and basketball teams, and performing at nursing homes, community events, festivals, and parades. Our hard work and spirit earned us several paid opportunities and community recognition.
This journey has been deeply personal. I once challenged myself to work on my cheer plan every day for 30 days—and when I got my first sign-up, something inside me changed. Someone believed in me, and I knew I couldn’t stop.
At KC Superior Cheer, Inc, we focus on more than routines. We teach the fundamentals of cheer and dance, but more importantly, we instill discipline, confidence, and leadership—because we’re not just building cheerleaders, we’re building future leaders.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite places in the city right now is anywhere there is water like the Texas Lagoon or Galveston. I love art so we will definitely hit the Art district and after we will be shopping. I love all the parks in Houston like Discovery Green, Emancipation aprk and buffalo Bayou – I have a 9 year old son so he gets active. We also love to eat also.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The Most High God – without him I would not have my vision and be able to have he resources to excute the goal
My Mother – For forcing me to stay. in cheer even when I wanted to quit in 11th grade, the passion of cheer has followed me throughout my life
My Siblings – For being my backbone
My Friends – For being a listening ear
My Cheer Parents- For allowing me to coach their girls
The Community – For believing in me and my vision to help build our community up
