We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Tranbarger and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, what do you attribute your success to?
Using my pendulum for decision making is the biggest factor to my success. One of the best skills that you can have as an entrepreneur is knowing how to make a decision. Before I started using a pendulum in 2020, I was a very indecisive person. Through daily pendulum use, I have learned how to tune into my body, and the signs around me, and know what a yes or no feels like. I make decisions quicker, I know when it is time to pivot and transition my brand to something new. All because I take the time to use my pendulum when I don’t know what decision to make, or whenever I feel stagnant.

Most people are afraid of change, but in order to be successful you have to flow WITH change. I talk to tons of business owners every single day, and most of them can’t make a decision because they are afraid that they won’t make the right choice. The moment that I started incorporating my pendulum into daily decision making, was the moment that I stepped out of that fear, and truly started to level up as an entrepreneur.

My book “How to Use a Pendulum to Survive a Spiritual Awakening” is a book that I wrote to teach others how to apply pendulum use in their daily life. It is the perfect starting point to being a better decision maker, a better entrepreneur, and overall… a better person. It’s available on Amazon.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My artistry started off with me making crystal pendulums and crystal jewelry in 2020.

My husband was always looking for new hobbies to do, And in 2023 we started making rugs. I really liked the design aspect of rug making.

Rug making was fun, but it was a lottt of labor…labor that most aren’t willing to pay for. While the sales were good, it was nothing that could provide stability at the time.

We were trying to figure out how we could draw in more income. My husband had another hobby idea and he bought a laser engraver.

While rugmaking was something that we both could do simultaneously, the laser engraver was not the same. We would have to take turns cutting designs, and that was quickly going to become an issue. But my husband saw how much I enjoyed it, and he let me take over. So I started making wall decor items with the laser.

One day Etsy shut down our shop with no ability to appeal. (I may have posted a listing that said Sponge Bob inspired….) Anyways, I was devastated. We had a website, but our sales were all coming in from Etsy. At the time, we were severely struggling financially, we really needed every last sale. But I KNEW that this was a push to do something different.

Then I realized that we could do pop up markets, so I signed up for my first market with Blessed Up Market, scheduled for October 2024.

In order to prep for the market, I wanted to make sure that I had the most amount of visibility, and feel like the people that were coming into my booth actually wanted to buy from me. I hate rejection and awkward interactions, so I wanted to make a sign that would also help me avoid that. So after getting some inspo from Pinterest, I decided to create a tent sign, a perfect way to magnetize my dream customers.

The first one that I created had some technical issues …but it worked for me! While I was at that market, my vendor neighbor, Wendy, really liked my sign.

She asked me if I sell them and I was REALLY nervous about saying yes. This was my first sign, and I knew that if I wanted to sell it, there was going to be some adjustments that I had to make. But Wendy was a serious customer, which I’m very grateful for, and she ended up placing an order later on that week.

I sold a few tent signs after, and then went through a few slow periods. I realized that I was keeping myself boxed in because at the time, I wasn’t shipping signs out-of-state because I was still kind of scared.

One day I was at a market and it was slow, but it gave me the opportunityof a lifetime. A lot of the vendors that I created signs for were there, so recorded videos of the signs in action. I made a video and that video started going viral. Someone asked me if I shipped out of state and in that exact moment I decided to let go of fear, and say YES. (After asking my pendulum of course lol because I was SCARED SCARED) That yes changed it all for me.

I now have a stack of custom orders and consistent orders coming in.

Do it scared…because wouldn’t have the opportunity if you weren’t ready.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Go to any market with local vendors! Make someones day! The feeling of shopping small is truly unmatched because your purchase really does make a difference. My favorite markets that I have been to are A Houston Market in the downtown area, Blessed Up Market in the north side, and The Famous Market in Pearland.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a big shout out to my husband, Ron. He is the one who had the idea to do laser engraving and bought the machine. I’m so grateful that he allowed me to take over…he saw my potential and just let me have at it!

I am so grateful to him. And that’s why I plan on retiring that man! (:
