What role has risk taking played in your life or career?

In our experience, most folks, including ourselves don’t have enough of an understanding of risk and the role it plays in our lives and careers and so we have made a concerted effort as a team to have conversations about risk with our interviewees. We’ve shared some highlights below.

Risk has always been a part of my life and career. Playing college and professional baseball as a closer taught me a lot about stepping into high-pressure situations—you don’t succeed without being willing to take risks and trust your preparation. Thinking about taking risk as always scared me, I have always wanted to go into esthetics but taking that leap was always scary especially with being a single mother at the time so I didn’t do it. After a couple years with the encouragement of my now husband i took that leap of faith and I’ve got to say without taking that risk I would still be at a corporate job wishing I would’ve done I sooner. Another way I would define risk is taking leaps of faith. It’s always better to say, “I tried”, instead of “I could have.”
Taking a risk is making a dream into a goal.
Pursuing a musical production career felt intimidating but had I never tried, I would have missed out working on awesome projects and having the opportunity to create with so many great people I’ve met, connected with, and learned from along the way. Read More>>
