Happiness: it’s what matters

We asked some of our favorite folks what makes them happy and why?

Food! That’s such an insane answer, but it’s an honest one. I find so much joy in cooking and baking. Combining flavors and different ingredients together to make something magical brings me legitimate joy. There have been times when I’ve created something so simple yet delicious that it brings tears to my eyes- and not because it’s necessarily the best thing on earth but because I know that the person who gets to eat this, the person who gets to experience what I just made will enjoy it and feel that there was intention and love behind what they just bit into. What makes me happy is a mix of simple daily pleasures, creative expression, meaningful connections, and a sense of accomplishment. I love starting my mornings with a hot cup of coffee—it’s a small ritual that grounds me for the day. My happiness has always been rooted in others… making a stranger feel a little less alone, giving a child the space to feel safe, seen, and confident, offering someone a moment of laughter on a hard day. That’s why photography speaks to me so deeply. It lets me capture the beauty of those moments exactly as they felt, like taking a snapshot of love, connection, and the magic of being human.
