We had the good fortune of connecting with Fredy Cano and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Fredy, why did you pursue a creative career?
I didn’t plan it to be a career, I started as a hobby first, and then people started to enjoy my photography and now I have the opportunity to get paid. Which I’m thankful for that. I do believe when people create there own art is so pure so raw and then it become their job, that’s a dream you know? Supporting your dream until your dream support you.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Hello I’m a photographer base in Houston Texas, even though I’m from Houston most of my photos are from different states deep in the nature. The thing I’m brought of is that I’m in a better place then I was before I started photography and for that I am thankful for that. Beside taking photos photography has teach me to become independent and also it help me to do the uncomfortable to feel comfortable with life. The lesson I learn through my journey in photography is that you don’t know your living in the moment until it become a memory. So you just have to enjoy the little things and I’m glad I can share my moments with the people that support me!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
That’s funny because my best friend is visiting from Seattle to Texas, once my friend come we are planing to go to the rodeo and then after that we will going on a Texas trip with some friends and we are planing to go to the white sands here in Texas and then to big bend National park and hike for few days, as long we catch sunrise or sunset it should be a good day in the mountains with close friends. We will be living on the road again, just eating snacks and making veggies burgers.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would say the movie “into the wild” it made me want to get out there and the see the world in my own eyes. One of my favorite quotes from the movie is “happiness is only real when shared”
