We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashleigh Noelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashleigh, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
Our goal is to influence our community to start or enhance their self-care journey by making amazing aroma products that will not only make their space smell amazing, but it’s uplifting for the user too. With our focus being self-care, we help our community by encouraging people to be okay with being selfish with themselves, and their time, to set healthy boundaries, and to put themselves first. The pandemic showed firsthand how close to the edge of breaking society was as a whole. This “always-on go” or “I’ll rest when I’m dead” mindset is damaging to everyone who adapts it. As a whole, we need to realign our focus to self & our families vs societal needs, our bosses, etc.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art! What sets me apart from other small business candle manufacturers is that we actually do the research for our fragrances. Each fragrance on our line has a detailed data sheet that breaks down all the notes, and the benefits of these notes for humans and our environment. This process inspired my aromachologist journey because I fell in love with learning about how odors/fragrances can influence human behavior, feelings, and emotions. This journey isn’t easy, it’s quite hard actually because it’s a lot of science and psychology involved when you begin tapping in. While I haven’t had many challenges I couldn’t overcome, I have had a lot of challenges that were unavoidable. In business, I’ve learned that striving for perfection will leave you stagnant. We are in a time where people love success stories, so instead of popping out with a fully functional brand & an I know what I’m doing attitude, I have learned to enjoy taking our #TooLitCrew along with us. Ultimately, I’ve learned that my company isn’t for everybody, and if you want to please everyone, you’re helping no one.
I’ve learned to be consistent, and true to myself, to leave spaces where I no longer feel aligned without apology, and I’ve learned to just enjoy the moment. I’m patiently waiting for the day my business takes off and grows, but I am totally enjoying the process of building, right now.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well, unfortunately, I am not from Houston, So you’re gonna have to take me out. But if that place just happens to be somewhere I can stumble upon the Stallion we call Megan, let’s go!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I honestly wish I knew who nominated me so that I can make sure I thank them, but I’m thankful for my sisters in business Ms. April Nichole (Black Sauce Brand), Daishia (Let’s Get Kinky Hair Products), Fiona G (Forever Audri), Sheena (Caleidi Rae’s Candles), Renay (Forever Yane’). Thankful to the online coaches and mentors who drop gems MeLanie Druery Allen (Hype Marketing House), Deb Lester (Conquer), Jenni Graham (Wealthy Vibes Tribe) & Liasia Villars (Launch Unleased University). Thankful for anyone who’s supported my business in any way, truthfully.
