By far, the topic that comes up most in our conversations with entrepreneurs and creatives is risk. We’ve had conversations about risks that worked out and risks that did not. We’ve seen eyes light eye sharing about career-trajectory changing risks as well as folks sigh about the risks they wish they had taken. These days, there’s not much risk, as I have found myself with nothing to lose, due to Faith that the risks I have taken in the past has provided, but it was no easy feat. It took and still takes a great deal of detachment from the definition of success that I was taught vs. my own, which is where the difficulty lies, because that transition is brutal, for it is One that required isolation until I could properly display and communicate the beauty of this newfound perspective of success. One that grants a Life of a true freedom, where I can utilize time to learn and enhance the gift that I have been given to create, simply to provide the tools that help me navigate through Life. I think that risks are inevitable, you have to take them if you want something to change and especially if you want to grow. Be it in your social life, business, romantically or otherwise. Every action has some amount of risk, you just have to weigh it out and commit to it. I took on a good deal of risk pursuing photography as a business. I had quite a bit invested financially, I risked prioritizing my work over my kids and husband, I risked being less involved in my social circles being busy so often. Read more>>
