24 hours in a day, 168 hours in a week. Junior investment bankers regularly work 80-90 hours a week. Many other high profile professions require the same level of commitment. Often those on the outside claim that working 80-90 hours a week is bad/wrong/terrible/silly/etc but we’ve spoken with so many folks who say working that much has been the best decision of their life – it allowed them to develop a deep and strong skill set far faster than would have been possible otherwise. In other words, by working 2x the hours, they were able to generate 5x or more the rewards. And depending on where you are in your career, investing heavily in your skills and competence can pay dividends for a long time.

Before starting my business, my work life balance did not exist. I would work and sleep and take care of my son. I would not even have a moment to unwind from the day. Work Life Balance: Originally when I started Seven Kisses I handled it as just a hobby, something I wanted to do but not 100% of the time. Once I saw my vision and realized that it was possible I began to work my full time job and work my business in between, on off days and after I go off. Soon I realized that I began working my business just as I would my full time job. The time I put into my business comes easy because its something Im passionate about and love doing. Read more>>
Ana Martinez | Mom, Baking Enthusiast, & Everything else you can think of
Honestly, I’m still trying to find the balance between kids, homeschooling, being a wife, keeping up with the house, cooking, cleaning, having an actual job, and baking. I somehow make it happen every single day. There’s never a dull moment but I always make sure that my priority, which are my kids, are taken care of. Thankfully, I was blessed with kids who love to help, even when they like to act out. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade them for the world. Through this process, I’m still teaching my kids that you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Read more>>

My job is very demanding, it requires a lot of study in Germany or Spain, every time I go to the seminars I take two weeks to enjoy the nearby countries. I look for balance compensating at the same level, if I work a lot I look for rest with the same quality with which I work. Life is a delicate balance. From the moment we are born, we give back to life what we received through our parents, we give back what we received in education to our community. Read more>>
