We had the good fortune of connecting with Aaron Ledet and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aaron, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2005 during my time in undergrad as an Architecture student at Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA. I was doing some research in the library for one of my projects. I came across a guy making a party flyer in Microsoft Word on one of the computers, it was terrible, so I asked him if I could redesign it for him. During that time I only knew Adobe Photoshop, thats the program we would set our architectural projects up in for presentations. Did the work, he paid me $20.00 and that’s when I knew I could make this a business.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are a multifaceted design firm offering services in Commercial Design, Residential Design, Graphic Design, Videography, and Architectural Renderings.” So in short we are a design firm which provides services in multiple areas of marketing and infrastructure.
That’s what makes us different. We have the ability to not just design the building, but market it as well.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well I would say Houston has one of the best, if not the best Brunch scenes in the nation hands down. Saturday Morning – Phil and Derek’s or Lucille’s : You can’t beat brunch and live music.
Saturday Night – I’m either at 5 Central having a Cigar or at Main Street Lounge.
Sunday Morning – After I give God thanks, I’m Brunching again, then probably end the evening watching the game at Sweet Lips Cigar Lounge.
Definitely on Saturday or Sunday go check out the Houston Museum of African American Culture (HMAAC) ask for The Dopest Historian or The Chief. Once you get there, you will not be disappointed.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“When you get tired… learned to rest, not quit.” Her name is Sandra, she’s my mother. There were so many times I would call home and tell her, “I’m tired, I don’t want to do this anymore.” Rather it was a small prayer or just moment to take a break and laugh a little… It pushed me. I knew I didn’t want to let her down. She was a single mother who was able to send all of her kids (3) to college, we all graduated and received our degree. She passed away in December of 2020 after complications with COVID-19. Sometimes I regret her not seeing what my company has become within this past year. Im sure she knows I didn’t quit, I just got some rest. Thank You and Love you Mom.
