Meet Acacia Moore | Teacher & Candle Maker

We had the good fortune of connecting with Acacia Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Acacia, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I think the most important thing I’ve done as a parent, in terms of the impact on my children is continuously teaching them to never give up and to think creatively. I’ve made some poor choices, and some things have happened to me that were out of my control, but I never gave up on my dreams and my goals. I know that my children see how hard I am working to give them a great life, and that I am doing in the right way. When I started by business, it served as a creative outlet for me, a way to spend time with my children, and bring in money. I hope that my boys see that no matter what happens in life as long as you still have breath in your body you keep fighting for and pursing the life you want.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I love candle making. One of the things that sets me apart from other candle makers is the positive affirmations. When I started MPV in June 2020 things were tense: the middle of a pandemic & race war. I just wanted to bring a little positivity into the world. All the candles at Moore Positive Vibes are named with positive affirmations. I reason I decided to do that was because candles are on display in your home, and even if you don’t have the candle lit, when you walk past it you can get a little bit of positivity.

I’ve gotten where I am today through hard work and a lot of mistakes. I had no idea what I was doing or any knowledge on how to start a product based business. The only thing I knew was that starting a business was the only thing I could do to get me out of the paycheck to paycheck cycle. I wanted to turn my love of candle making into a business in order to spend more time with my kids.

The ultimate goal at Moore Positive Vibes is to create candles that bring positivity and comfort in your home or office; each product is uniquely named as a positive affirmation. All candles are made with organic soy wax and hand poured in small batches to ensure quality in each and every candle.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention my mother, Dacia. I saw her raise my sister and I as a single mother, work a full time job, and pursue her dreams of entrepreneurship. Her journey has definitely inspired mine.
