We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Patel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Since 2018, I have been employed at an Oil & Gas company in Houston, Texas doing Accounting & Finance. My career/school journey has not been easy and was a huge struggle for many years after high school. I started my freshman year of college studying education and finally decided to change majors after finishing my junior year. Once I switched over to Accounting, I started feeling more confident in my work and developed a passion for the Accounting and Finance world. I cannot wait to graduate next month and see where my career takes me in the future!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
There is a reason everyone is moving to Houston, Texas, and that is because it’s an adventurous city! There is so much to do, eat, drink, and discover all over town. One of my favorite places to go for walks or have a picnic is Buffalo Bayou Park, not only is it a beautiful view of the skyscrapers, but there is plenty of restaurants and bars near the area. One restaurant that I would recommend to people is Brenner on the Bayou and one bar I would recommend is Little Woodrows. I love a relaxed and chill eating/drinking environment and being able to have a good time while hanging out with my friends.


The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The one person who has truly made me a better person in recent years is my go-to party buddy, best friend, and right-hand arm, Ariatna Cendejas. Not only is she a loyal friend, but she brings joy to every person she meets and is extremely passionate about caring for those around her. We share similar values, humor, morals, and expectations of what we want from others in friendships and relationships. Ariatna is one of the best humans on earth and deserves everything and more!
