We had the good fortune of connecting with Adreon Hongo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adreon, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is my positive mental attitude because without it and my profession you would always be mad about what the next DJ is doing or worrying about the gigs they are getting. Every week I’m practicing new skill sets, recording mixes, trying different techniques to help me stand out from everyone else. My positive attitude also help me draw a lot of people wanting my services because I am so confident in myself that people are amazed by it and my skills also speaks a lot of volume.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I feel like what set me apart from others in my field is my drive, ambition to be great to be on the same level as many other DJs in Houston. One of my favorite DJ is DJ Jazzy Jeff the man has done so much for the industry I watch a lot of his live sets to learn new (old) music that was before my time different techniques that he does he an inspiration for me. My grind was not easy and still not done I’ve still got a ways to go before I feel like I’ve actually accomplished my goals. Some lessons I have learned on my journey is to not trust everyone a lot of DJs say they want to help but in reality they just want to get ahead of you and step on your toes while at it. I’ve had guys try to “help” me meanwhile just left me out to figure out how to get going on my own but it has helped me a lot. What I would like the world to know about me is I’m a great person with an great attitude and I could be a awesome DJ that could provide services for anything that just looking for an opportunity to become a Club DJ.

Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I’m a lay back dude so depends on the mood I’m in and who it is coming into town because most the time I go out to Lincoln bar on Washington Ave. I like hanging out at bars or clubs that why I can’t wait for Houston to open back up to get back out.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to shoutout my girlfriend for pushing me to be better everyday and also striving her own dreams by starting her own YouTube subscribe @NellMonet, also follow my sister from another mister YouTube @BeeCee both of them are giving out great content while we deal with this pandemic. Also my little brother for starting TWO businesses follow his IG @Classic.Kicks.HTX for all your shoe needs and @bounce_that_LLC for all your bounce houses for your party needs. On another hand what helped me with my different view on life is Charlamagne tha god book shook ones I totally recommend this book.
