We had the good fortune of connecting with Aerial Dorsey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aerial, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
I have a favorite bible verse, that I turned into a favorite affirmation. “I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength. Philippians 4:13″ I turned it into the affirmation”I can do hard things.” Truly in life we are faced with various difficult challenges, I have to remind myself daily that though it seems hard I can do it. As long as I keep God rooted in whatever challenge I may face, I can do it.
Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I am a Christian based lifestyle blogger. I have always had a love for reading and writing. Writing has always been my escape from reality. When I pick of my pen and journal to begin writing it helps me to release all the thought that are in my head onto paper. I started off as a lifestyle blogger sharing encouragement through blog entries on Queens Inspired. After getting a diagnosis of Infertility a few years back, I remember searching and searching for other women who looked like myself to connect with and learn from their stories. I couldn’t find any. I thought about and prayed asking God should I begin to share my journey in hopes of letting other women know they aren’t alone. You aren’t the only one dealing with inferitlity.
To get to where I am today, I had to learn to fight through fear. I had to know that even though it seems hard and impossible, I can do it. The phrase “do it scared”, is what I’m learning means to do it regardless of how scary it feels. It was the most important lesson I learned. Though it may seem like no one is watching or reading my blogs, keep using my voice to allow others to know that it seems hard, but you can still do it.
Though sharing my infertility journey was a scary, I’m so grateful I shared my journey so that other women can see that the promise God made to me was fulfilled. He is El Roi, the God that sees! He never took his eyes or hands off me!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wheeeewww! Everyone that knows me knows I love brunch. Like I love love love brunch. I’m taking sis to Olive or Twist in Baton Rouge! They have the best brunch and bottomless mimosas! Everyone knows that in south Louisiana we have some of the best food. I’m a foodie. After brunch, lets take a ride on down to NOLA (New Orleans, LA). This time of year is known for various festivals on weekends to enjoy. We’d check out a festival, eat some good festival food, stroll the French Quarters, do a little shopping, and then catch dinner at a local restaurant. One of my favorite restaurants to eat while in NOLA is New Orleans Food and Spirits. My favorite thing to order off their menu are the crawfish egg rolls. They are so delicious! A good girls day out is needed for the soul!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have to give a shout out to my husband. Through out marriage you are faced with many obstacles, but we have overcome any obstacles we’ve faced. The hardest challenge we were faced with was infertility. Though men like to make it seem like nothing phases them or bothers them, I know how hard it is to long for something for so long, and to finally see it unfolding and living your prayers that you prayed for years. I also have to shout out my family and my tribe! They push me to keep going even when it seems hard and I want to give up!
