We had the good fortune of connecting with Akeem Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Akeem, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Being that I have been a journeyman throughout my career I’ve gained much knowledge that’s been deemed useful, and through my business I want to empower those who inspire to do the same by sharing lessons I’ve learned.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Starting a business is never easy but when you have a vision, it’s exciting to see things materialize that were only once thoughts. Starting PWR VSN in the basketball training & development space has been amazing, but seeing my players & coaching mentees make progress is what keeps me excited ultimately keeping me motivated to continue helping. My business is set apart from the fact that I have extensive 1st hand knowledge in different level of coaching, training & playing as well as an elite level of connections and peers that are willing to share their knowledge as well to help prepare coaches, players and trainers for their journey ahead.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Houston has so many spots to do a multitude of things but I like a lowkey day so I’d start my morning off with the one of the best breakfast spots, Leeland house. Then maybe catch an astros game up the street, then dinner at a Guard & Grace & a cool night at B’s Wine in Missouri city.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I have colleagues that’s support me & help with keeping me inspired Tim Moore, Cruz Ginns, Q Davis, Drew Hanlen & Fess Irvin.
