Meet Alana Vorda

We had the good fortune of connecting with Alana Vorda and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Alana, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
Social media management wasn’t even on my radar when I was given my boss’ account back in 2021. At the time, I was his administrative assistant–a far cry from an artistic role. Managing his account ended up scratching this creative itch that I didn’t even know I had. Over the next six months, I realized how much I loved it and started thinking, “Why not do this full-time and help other businesses too?” That’s what led me to start Vorda Social.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run Vorda Social, a social media management and content creation business based here in Houston, TX. My bread-and-butter clients are in real estate and its periphery—I’ve worked with brokerages, realtors, property managers, architects, and mostly developers. I’ve also been lucky to branch out and work with other notable businesses like My Fit Foods, a meal prep company, and creatives like Timber Pictures, a local filmmaking team.
Most of my business has come through referrals, which is such a huge compliment—it means a lot to know my clients value what I do enough to recommend me to others. I genuinely love working with my clients, and if you know me, you know how important community is to me. That’s really where it all starts. I pride myself on working with authentic people and building their brand’s voice with that authenticity at the forefront of everything I do.
Getting here hasn’t been easy, but what would be the fun in that? It’s taken a lot of trial and error, I’ve trudged through some abysmal lows, but there’s been plenty of learning along the way which I’m grateful for. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that staying true to your values and surrounding yourself with good people makes all the difference. That’s what Vorda Social is all about—helping brands connect, communicate, and grow in ways that feel real and impactful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We’d start with some coffee at Siphon or Agora and then partake in some culture—I’d take them to my favorite museums: the CAMH, Rice’s Moody Center, probably Rothko Chapel. MFAH would require its own day let’s be honest. We’d stop for hand rolls at Handies at some point for lunch, and then grab ice cream at Jeni’s.
We’d need another day to explore Montrose and check out vintage shops. And no visit to Houston would be complete without dedicating an entire day to eating our way through Asia Town.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My boss from 2021, Christopher Phan, who forced me into running his accounts lol and Jeff Sturman from Vecino Homes for trusting me and being my second client ever.
