We had the good fortune of connecting with Aleisha Bradley and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aleisha, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
I have a favorite scripture, Romans 12:2 “ Do not conform to this world but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good, acceptable and perfect “ This scriptures remind me daily to be myself and trust God in all that I do and with every relationship I develop with different people. To have discernment to identify what is really true and right for me, whether it’s a business decision or a personal relationship. It also tells me not to allow what the world /people tell me what’s best for me or make me feel indifferent because I don’t move the way others move or think

What should our readers know about your business?
I am a fashion stylist and I am also pushing out apparel for my brand Rare Breed. As a stylist one of the things that sets me apart in my opinion is my ability to think and push clients outside of the normal box. It’s hard for people to get out of that comfort zone when it comes to their attire and I have the ability to help them see beyond what they are use to. Getting a client to see how a few wardrobe adjustments can give then that extra boost of confidence is the most exciting feeling in the world.
As for my brand Rare Breed it’s rooted from as early as my childhood. I have always known I was different and most times was treated differently but I always adapted and continued to be my authentic self. Whenever I tried to do things just to fit in it never felt comfortable and really never worked. I also suffered from abuse as a child and I’m still surviving and healing from that pain so that alone make me a Rare Breed. I want anyone else that experiencing some type of trial or has experienced childhood trauma but beat the odds to know that they are not alone. We are Rare but we are loved.
Nothing is easy about being an entrepreneur but the challenges has made me stronger and wiser. Prayer and my support circle helps me get through it all

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well this is a hard one because I’m not your usual social butterfly. I mean I get out but it’s mainly if I’m invited out for something. Lol. I would most definitely do my best to get them out of the house.
If they come on the weekend we would go to a happy hour at the infamous 610 Pappadeaux or the Spot in 3rd ward. Sunday we would do brunch at either Kamp or Union kitchen. During the week we could catch a movie or find another spot to hangout for some mid week fun. We would most definitely hit up Bar 5015 for some good food and entertainment. Before heading out we would have a nice departing dinner at one of my favorite places which ranges from Mystros to Cheescake Factory. Lol lol lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this shout out to some of my closest and most supportive people that have really pushed me and encouraged me through this new journey. My brother Jonathan “JB” , my mom Bernice Cage, Kayla Walker and Tiffany Walton, Stephanie Lyons, Sabeina Harris and my loving daughter Dominique Kazee. These people are beyond supportive. They not only keep me encouraged but they allow me to discuss my ideas and give me great feedback and critics that help me to do better and be better
