We had the good fortune of connecting with Alicia Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alicia, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
My Family , My Friendships , The ability to travel the world and visit new countries . Being able to serve in the community working on a non-profit board ; The Trinidad and Tobago Association of Texas

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a Sales Support Analyst for a large bank, with a career that has evolved through hard work and determination. Starting in Retail Banking as a Personal Banker, I progressed to Service Manager and Branch Manager roles before transitioning into Commercial Banking.

Navigating the corporate world has been challenging, but it has also been an invaluable journey of learning, development, and growth. I have overcome obstacles by leveraging the guidance of mentors, the support of a sponsor, and the insights gained from an amazing therapist.

The key lessons I’ve embraced are to never give up, always work with passion and integrity, and consistently strive to be a great team player.

As a lifelong learner and “forever student,” I remain committed to continuously improving myself and advancing in my career.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Day 1: Arrival & Caribbean Vibes
• First Stop: Indulge in authentic Trini cuisine at D’ Caribbean Curry Spot, conveniently located near my home. A perfect introduction to the flavors of Trinidad and Tobago.
• Evening Activity: Attend a Caribbean Happy Hour or event. With lively happenings almost every weekend, I’ll pick a vibrant event to keep the island vibes going.

Day 2: Brunch & Adventure
• Morning Brunch: Enjoy a delicious and healthy meal at First Watch, known for its fresh and economical options.
• Afternoon Activity: Get active with an outdoor or fitness-related adventure like bike riding. 3rd Ward Bike Tours offers a great opportunity to explore and have fun.
• Evening: Wind down and relax by visiting with other friends for some quality time.
