We had the good fortune of connecting with Alyxandria Randle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alyxandria, what do you think makes you most happy? Why?
Whenever I’m in my groove/zone I am my happiest. I believe that is the case for most people. Zoned out making products, taking chances and experimenting creates a space for me to feel at peace and definitely my happiest. My happy is something I create.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Butter Shoppe is herbally based and evolving, just like us There are herbs in every product.
Our Coconut Nut Oil & Almond Oil is infused with Echinacea-Chamomile-Calendula & Ashwagandha.
One of these two oils are in every product. I believe this is what makes our products so unique and so soothing to the skin.
My skin has definitely not always been as soft as it is today.

I am most appreciative and proud that I am still learning, I never want to stop learning new things about this craft.
I incorporate that strategy into this company. Im exceptionally excited to educate people about the herbs left here for us on this planet. They are simply magic.

I have been a creative since birth. Mixing things and experimenting have always been a part of my DNA.
Translating that into a business was not always the easiest task.
A creative mind is not always so business savvy, but when the two click together finally it’s the best combo.
There have been many hiccups and setbacks to my business that I have had to overcome. The best lesson I have learned from them is to just keep going and evolve. Do not stop. Ever. No matter if you think you are not moving as quickly as your peers, or even if you think you are not moving fast enough for your self. Keep going and don’t stop. Be yourself and put yourself into your business. What helps me keep going is that I am not afraid to scrap an idea or product. I do not hold on to what doesn’t seamlessly work.

These products are for the man or woman who want healthy skin without the chemicals or harmful ingredients.
The person who explores, the woman who wants to keep her soft skin, the parent with the child who has eczema.
These products are for you when you are ready to try them.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I definitely do my fair share of partying, but forsure not a week long unless I am out of town. lol My favorite daytime eats and drink places are

Ador Kitchen and Cocktail
The Rouxpour
Olive + Twist
Lucilles
The Address
La Lucha

At nighttime there is a different vibe. I am a singer and love hitting up the open mics.
Tuesday nights at Henke & Pilot are a must, some of the best musicians and live music in the city. A hidden gem.

Also, Live music at Taste Bar & Lounge, Phil & Dereks or O2 Lounge are always the place to be after 9pm. (any day of the week)

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mother.

For years I made soap in her kitchen because I wanted to start a soap company.
I was going to call it Mama’s Good Soap (which is still an awesome soap company name lol)

With all of the oil and other butters around from the soap making, she would beg me to make her some “booty rub” as she called it.
So here and there I would melt down some oils, cocoa butter, shea butter and coconut oil, put them in a jar for her to use.
And she would love it.

The idea for The Butter Shoppe came from her. I would have never thought to change my entire business model if it weren’t for her raving about my “booty rub” to family and friends. It made me realize that body butters are what people want. I actually realized it was what I liked more as well.

My Mother passed away in 2019.
I opened my website shortly after.
I had been scared to take the next step with my business but once again she was the catalyst.
