We had the good fortune of connecting with Amari Noelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amari, why did you pursue a creative career?
honestly, i really didn’t choose a creative career it chose me. the arts was definitely something that i’d always showed interest in but was #2 behind basketball. once college ball didn’t work out music was the only obvious choice for me to pursue.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
i’m Amari Noelle and i’m singer, songwriter as well as actress. music has always been apart of my life coming from a musical family but i got my true start back in 2013 when i joined a alternative rap group in high school. from there i learned how to write, record and understand what it takes to be an artist. however, it wasn’t something that i necessarily took serious because i was a hooper. i got a full ride scholarship to college but days into my journey i got kicked off. that shit honestly shook my entire world but i knew that if i applied the same mental skill set to music i could do the same thing. so that’s what i did & 5 years later it landed me a distribution deal. during that 5 year period, i learned so much about myself and how to use my voice. i was never trained just raw talent. i really saw how strong i was . i got it out the mud man. i would say what separates me from a lot of artist is i make no excuses. i recorded just about every song you hear from me with my i phone & apple headphones. that’s how bad i wanted it. i really just started going to the studio this year. i want the world to know i’m a 1 of 1 generational talent and i know that’ll come with just growing as artist. i haven’t even reached my best me yet. so i want my supporters to see that journey and just grow with me in the process.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
well i’m from Gary, Indiana a small city. there isn’t a lot of stuff to do but if my bf pulled up i’m taking them to the beach, Tacos & Tequila to grab food and for the night we gone slide to Vibe Hookah lounge get turnt and have a good time.
we could hit up the stadium & catch a baseball game from our local baseball team — Gary Railcats.
as well as catch the train to Chicago which is 30 mins out and just post up out there.
we’d prolly have to do those same things 2-3 days out the week lbs but i swear it’s nothing like Gary, Indiana. holler at me in 5 years after our new Mayor elect Eddie Melton gets the city back on track and we gone have a lot more to do.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
i’d like to dedicate my shoutout to everyone who believed in me & my talents beyond what people thought i’d be. y’all are the reason i keep going and growing. i am eternally grateful for the love, time, investments & wisdom you guys bless me with daily! y’all the true rockstars man..
