We had the good fortune of connecting with Amelia Michelle and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amelia, Let’s talk about principles and values – what matters to you most?
As an artist I value authenticity first and for most. When creating I make sure my lyrics are from the heart . By doing so I can allow my audience to truly feel what I’m expressing and hopefully resonate with what I’m speaking on. I also value using my platform/ music to speak on important social and humanitarian issues in our world today. It is vital that the artist of our generation capture the life changing events happening everyday. The injustice, inequality and much more must be spoken on to help spark change for a better society. This is very important to me ,because I strongly believe in justice, equality and respect for all.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I have always gravitated towards music from being in school choirs to doing little shows at home. By the time I was 14 I decided to actually try and make my own music, I started writing songs and contacting producers. Soon after I learned to make my own beats. There was times where it became difficult to stay consistent , but my love for music kept me working hard. I am now 17 years old and back in October I got signed to a management company and began to branch out even more with other local artist . Being in this industry I’ve learned the importance of communication and working together with like- minded individuals. That is something that will benefit my journey to success and I am very much grateful for.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had someone come visit Houston I would definitely take them to the city center. They have a beautiful courtyard with live bands, high-end restaurants with a diverse range of food choices from vegan options to cupcakes. They also have a very nice movie theater called studio movie grill and various stores you can shop from.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shout-out to Barron studios for being a safe, professional and comfortable place to make and record high quality music.
