We had the good fortune of connecting with Anatalia Gomez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anatalia, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I was extremely motivated and excited but like all risk, I was terrified just like everything in life we worry about failing before we even think about succeeding and I had to retrain my thought and believe I can make my dream come true.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
AM construction and Design is a Latina Owed Business that is striving to start New Construction to help all class families be homeowners, We also help renovate and restore existing homes for communities without the worry of being taken advantage of.

The challenges we face is taking the business into New Construction, unfortunately the Banking and Government Programs don’t offer newly Construction business much financial resources, which makes it difficult to always have to self fund and self fund to the next level is still very much a challenge. We work everyday to find the necessary resources from partnerships to program funding to help us make it the next level in construction.

The one thing I learned from all the struggle (which is still not over) is that no matter how hard it gets and the 100s of No’s you get that one day there will be that one YES to make it all worth the fight, sweat, and tears and that will be the most beautiful blessed moment of it all and makes you know you’ll do it all over again if you have to.

We need everyone to know we are building a name that when you see you can trust it and know we are one of you, someone who can and will do what it takes to make sure your not just dollar sign but yet a member of the community who deserves to have there hard earned respected and shown for. We plan to grow and Build homes and communities with ability to help first and second home buyers as everyone deserves more than one chance to live and be apart of the dream of being a homeowner. If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
The City Skyline at Buffalo Bayou Park as it a visual of the beauty of Houston in one view. The Pit-room on Richmond for one the best BBQ places in the City hands down, the brisket will melt in your mouth like hot butter on Fourth of July.
For a night out at Neon Boots on Fridays LGBTQ night is beyond fun, a night of dancing Latin music and being yourself takes the cake on a great night out.
A walk through the best two Flea markets in Houston from Traders Village and Sunny Market in airline on the weekends is like treasure hunt there is not one thing you couldn’t find at both places.
If you wanted to enjoy relaxed Luncheon on Market Street in the woodlands we can enjoy any of the restaurants on the waterway with a nice breeze and beautiful scenery that it has to offer.

For fun and kid like day at Typhoon Texas in Katy will not be disappointing as it brings back childhood memories of being worry free with a lot of fun.

For the shopping experience of it all the Galleria mall is by far the most exciting time as it’s a all day shopping experience to remember.

We can take Desert time from the best Pie place in Houston, Flying Saucer on Crosstimbers that reminds you of your grandmother kitchen and if not your grandmothers it will feel like being in someone grandmother kitchen with multiple flavor pies.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My Mother and My Wife, both deserve the credit of a life time. My mom has always showed me that a women can be it all as she was a cosmetologist to Welder and always stood tall to take care of her children and make sure we didn’t need of anything, she always made it a point for us to strive and always do better she will forever be my role model . My Wife has always made sure that my dreams became apart of hers, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do to get me where I am today, which is finally perusing our dreams and making sure I believe in myself more than anything else in this world, without them and the the strong women they are I couldn’t be standing here as proud to be a women in the construction industry ready to break down all barriers and win against all odds. I am forever thankful for them.
