We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Gates and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Andrew, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor that defines success for The Lost Cajun is our Culture. Our culture is based on courtesy and respect. You will hear all of our staff use three words all day every day, Please, Thank You, and Your Welcome! We want our guest to feel like they came over to a friend’s house for dinner. We welcome them in and treat them like family. All of our food is prepared fresh. We don’t have heat lamps or microwaves in our kitchen. Everything is prepared when the guest order their food!
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I spent 20 years in retail management from store to district level management. I worked for large companies and small franchises. I learned alot over the years. Most of all, I learned how I wanted to treat my employees. I wanted them to feel like part of my family, not just a number. I wanted them to know that loyalty plays both ways. I learned that I love to cook, and I love to enjoy meals with friends and family. What better way to do that than here at The Lost Cajun!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother shared her cajun cooking with me as I grew up and she taught me how to cook. Both of my parents have family from Louisiana. Both of my parents are gone now, but they both played a part in who I am today. They both mentored and taught me so many things from cooking, respect, & love. They both encouraged me to follow my dreams and that is exactly what I did!
