We had the good fortune of connecting with Andrew Shea and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Andrew, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success would be relentless dedication towards the improvements in my clients performance and patients health. Having and understanding that the progression, perception, and success of the company and brand is directly related to continuous drive for quality treatment and effective performance. Every client and patient is a representation of the company/brand’s success.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business has two main components; physical therapy and strength and conditioning. The physical therapy follows a cash based model. Patients are seen one-on-one for their sessions. Their treatment is unique to their injury/surgery meaning there is no set protocol for a specific injury. The programs for recovery are set to each patient’s specific needs based on their evaluation. The strength and conditioning programs are created both on an individual and group basis. The programs are designed for performance to help each athlete/client progress to the next level. I work with a wide range from youth to professional athletes. My business services Rodeo athletes especially. This has allowed me to work with an elite group of individuals including a number of world champions in steer wrestling, tie down, and barrel racing. Business-wise I have gotten to where I am through trial and error including plenty of failure but the wherewithal to understand the importance of pivoting. The business certainly does not look exactly like what I had planned day one. However, it is far better and that is a result of being pliable and letting go of ideas that would not have been beneficial towards the progress of the company. Additionally, having the ability to try and fail and try again. One of the best lessons I have learned is if an idea did not turn out well, simply create a new idea and try that one. Do not continue to try and force a poor idea over and over just because it sounded good or your ego pushes you to. I want the world to know my brand is focused on helping people perform better in the athletic field and in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would have to say if a friend was visiting I would take them to some major indoor rodeos. This would include Rodeo Houston which is a full scale production in the rodeo world. I am not sure in my opinion it would get much better than that.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My dad was a big part of my current career path. I was burned out on traditional physical therapy when I was in the process of leaving CHI St. Joseph’s therapy department. I had been in a lead therapist role and quite frankly tired of the traditional health care system and the resulting treatment of patients. I was studying for my real estate licence when my dad had and incredibly impactful conversation with me. He asked me a simple question: why would you give up on something you are good at and enjoy doing. The simplicity of the question was immense and I started to created the foundation for my current business. This included physical therapy and strength and conditioning without the restrictions and limitations of insurance providers or corporate processes. That simple statement allowed me to create a company that is entirely patient and athlete focused.
