We had the good fortune of connecting with Angie Dunn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Angie, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I have seen real hardships as a child. I come from a working-class family that did not have a lot of education and surely did not understand how to budget or save for retirement. I wanted to really make a difference in someone’s life. I wanted to provide old school one on one customer service. I would not have been able to provide this if I was working for a big corporation. No one should be seen as a number, and it seems the large companies have all moved to using a Robo calling system instead of a real customer service agent. I want to go back to the times when you have the number and a name of the person who you are speaking with. Someone who you knew and trusted. By opening my own company, I am able to help everyone in all walks of life, age or need. I am not tied to any one product, and I am adding new services every month. My goal is to always be able to help everyone no matter their budget, health or goal. I also wanted to be in control of my future while helping others do the same.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the first in VA with a small business to provide financial education using the platform of social media to reach a national/global audience. No, there is nothing easy about it. My company helps provides education on the Affordable care act, Medicare supplements, tax free retirement strategies, Roth IRA, annuities, college saving strategies, life insurance, Final expense, Preneed last wishes, home protection, supplement insurance such as cancer policies, and short-term disability, and I also have a mentorship program and a nonprofit woman’s empowerment group. I will be traveling from state to state providing free financial workshops. My next event is in Houston TX. November 3rd, 2022. My goal is to help more woman become leaders and to be financially free. I am licensed in all 50 states, there is constant and endless correspondence, and the forever search for new material to maintain a business via social media. Countless hours outside your comfort zone with unbelievable repetition. I want to make a difference in someone’s life every day. It is such a rewarding feeling to have someone say I was not taught to budget or plan, and you helped me. I never have any fees or any kind of charges to help anyone. I will spend as much time as needed with them until they have an understanding. No matter where you come from, with hard work and perseverance, you can thrive.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First of all, we would have to see the historical landmarks of Virginia with Luray Taverns and Natural Bridge, enjoying a drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway and all of its beauty. Coming closer to home a stop at Red Hill, the home of Patric Henry. Along the while stopping at Dinwiddie, VA to see where I grew up and we would definitely visit Richlands Dairy and Creamery for ice cream and extras. Stopping at Williamsburg/Jamestown for some rich history of the birth of our nation. And on East to the well-kept beaches of VA and their local fair. Blue crabs and swimming the horses in the Chesapeake Bay.
One of the most remarkable things about VA is the fact that it has four true seasons. Sometimes you can experience all of them in a week. The local joke is if you don’t like the weather in Virginia just wait 20 minutes.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My family and my children have been my biggest fans. They have stood by my side during the ups and downs of starting my business. They not only provide support but technical assistance and other resources. I would also like to say that Ryan Badgett has been my mentor and best friend for years. No matter how crazy my ideas have been he has helped it go from a dream to reality.
