We had the good fortune of connecting with Anna David and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anna, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I believe that the most important factor behind success, whether it be on social media or just in life, is a combination of discipline and consistency. Without a combination of these two things, it becomes easy to falter when the going gets tough. I think that building sustainable habits through discipline will create consistent brand awareness and engagement.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a digital creative, I love to draw inspiration from other creators and put my own twist on things, which is why I enjoy TikTok so much because you literally follow in the footsteps of whatever is trending – whether it be a sound, dance, funny video, etc. but you’re able to make it your own and express yourself and artistic abilities in a way that is true to you.

I have been creating ‘content’ for years – photos, videos, vlogs, you name it. When I finally made the decision and take the leap to start sharing that art with the public on social media, it felt scary and vulnerable. Rather than post my work for likes and views, I looked at it moreso as a digital diary. I run two ‘influencer’ accounts – my personal one, and my dog’s. Both of those began less as a business but moreso as a personal outlet. The more I kept editing and posting, the better I got at it, which is why I believe consistency to be so important. Even if you post something and it gets no likes or views, I promise it’s not for nothing. You’re gaining experience, you’re learning new skills, you’re finding out what works and what doesn’t, you’re developing your own sense of style.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many spots in Houston to check out, and things are always changing, which I love.

One of my favorite places is POST Houston – a downtown entertainment venue. I love to bring people to eat there because they get the great skyline views, of course, but there is food for anyone there. And the best part is being able to share a meal with your friends or family but having the ability to get different things.

Another great spot, which is dog-friendly, is Barnaby’s Cafe. There are a few locations around and not only do they serve great food, but they have a menu for dogs too!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My shoutout goes to all of the local dog rescues in Houston! I am constantly inspired by their outreach methods, consistent creativity, and overal mission(s). My heart goes out to every single animal that has not yet been adopted, but I know that staff members go above and beyond to pursue marketing and efforts to get the word out as much as possible. As someone who runs my dog’s social media accounts, I draw inspriation from rescues with strong missions and hope to continue to advocate for dog adoption.
