We had the good fortune of connecting with Annie Sweeney and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Annie, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
First and foremost; I was scared to death. I’m the type of person to always have anxiety about everything. Thankfully having a supporting fiancé, I was able to move past it and start to think about my business. It was not easy at all, the workload and the amount of things to do were overwhelming to say the least. I kept thinking to myself, if I never do this, I will always regret not at least trying.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a real estate photographer, etc I offer photography, slightly videography, aerials, 3D Matterport, Virtual Staging, and lastly twilights! (ALL in 24 HOURS)
I love what I do and I absolutely love seeing my clients happy with the end product.
Because I had previously experience with what I did, the work load wasn’t too difficult. What was challenging was the background stuff. The promoting, the emails, constant communication with clients, etc. Because before, I was just the photographer, i didn’t need to reach out to clients or promote my services. So that was a reality check for me.
My brand/logo: is sell your listing in a snap with SnapZilla. It’s this cute dinosaur with a camera.
Funny story, My fiancé (when sketching out the dinosaur) he based it off my favorite Pokémon character which is Charmander. So my logo includes both things that I adore, photography and Charmander.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m a foodie person, so I would take them to all my favorite restaurants. Which include: Soliz, the best breakfast taco place. After eating a bunch of tacos, I would then take them out to Buffalo Bayou to burn those carbs off. Then go to river oaks and enjoy some shopping. Then go eat again, at Shake Shack and beg them to get cheese fries with a milkshake.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My fiancé, he pushed me to actually start it, he helped with the logo and the actual name. He was basically the CEO of the design of my business. He created my website, which tremendously helped and looks amazing! His continued support and love is the reason why I’m still working very hard. Also: my clients and their continued support. I always go back to thinking of my clients, if they weren’t here, my business would be nothing. So a huge shoutout to my fiancé and my clients. It is truly a blessing live my dream of owning a business.
