We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Atrian Garcia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Anthony, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I’ve always been a busy individual wether it’s overtime at work or a side hustle as detailing cars, etc, it can be a lot to juggle at times but I’ve always found a way to dedicate time to my family because I am aware of the importance of it, it’s a necessity to sometimes disconnect from your responsibilities to cherish what truly matters and what you work so hard for.

Over time my work life balance has changed drastically, mainly now that I have my own business along with my dad, apart from my full time job. It was a longtime dream of his to have his own meat market and I’ve always wanted to be my own boss and build something from the ground up, so when this opportunity popped up, what more can I ask for? Helping my dad accomplish his dream along with my own, it’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, so we went for it not knowing what the outcome would be but knowing we would give it our all, and that’s what we are doing now and will continue to do so!

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I want to say my journey reflects with the type of person I am and carry myself as, I’ve always set out goals and accomplished them from something as small as moving out, buying my first car to bigger things as buying my first home, starting my own business and more. I am from the bottom like many can relate and not any different than anyone, I am not here to compete, I am here to stand out and build my own success, there’s enough bread for all of us.

What sets me apart from others is not necessarily a comparison, more like a stand out attribute which would be that we are willing to go the extra mile on giving our clients what they’re looking for, from sourcing out specific items, to specific cuts and custom requests, creating a unique experience one client at a time.

I am where I am today all due to my way of thinking and the work I’ve put in, from being a manager at a fast food joint when I was a senior in high school, to being a supervisor now at my current job in a chemical storage facility. I’ve always been the type of person who’s had self initiative, and due to that I’ve acquired the proper skills to take it up to the next level anywhere I’ve worked at, and yes there’s been hi’s and lows like most people but I’ve always said to myself “ it’s all in gods hands” no matter the situation as long as I move with dignity and do things right, that eventually it would all make sense, and that’s exactly how everything has happened.

I am excited to provide the world with quality meats, groceries and supplies along with excellent customer service, with the goal of building life long relationship’s with each and every individual we meet.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If I were to have a buddy visiting, as far as food I’d take him to Rio grande burger house for some home made burgers, Taqueria elyses for some authentic Mexican food, Fusion grill for the variety or a classic, pluckers !

For a hang and drinks I’d go with little Woodrow’s, pitch 25, Fabian’s or pistoleros

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to give a shout-out to my wife, parents and siblings, for being there from the start up and not expect anything back in exchange with the main goal in mind that one day business would boom and it would all be worth it, along with all of our family, friends and clients who have gave us the opportunity and have returned as regulars.
