We had the good fortune of connecting with Anthony Avant and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Anthony, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
I believe several key habits have significantly contributed to my success:
1. **Customer Service**: Prioritizing the needs of customers has fostered strong relationships and loyalty, which are crucial in any industry.
2. **Professionalism**: Maintaining a high standard of professionalism in all interactions has not only built trust with clients and colleagues but also enhanced my reputation in the field.
3. **Knowledge**: Continuously seeking to expand my knowledge has allowed me to stay informed about industry trends and best practices, enabling me to provide valuable insights and solutions.
4. **Experience**: Gaining hands-on experience has been invaluable, allowing me to learn from real-world challenges and develop effective strategies.
5. **Cleanliness**: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace reflects attention to detail and contributes to a productive environment, which positively impacts my work ethic.
6. **Networking**: Actively building a network of professional contacts has opened doors to new opportunities and collaborations, essential for ongoing success.
By integrating these habits into my professional life, I have cultivated a solid foundation for achieving and sustaining success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My artistic journey has been shaped by the commitment to instill great habits that I believe will be passed down through generations. These practices are often overlooked by many emerging artists, yet they form the foundation of my work.
The path to where I am today has certainly not been easy; it is filled with learning curves and invaluable lessons. However, it is not merely about the challenges faced, but rather how I have chosen to respond to them that sets me apart. Each obstacle has provided an opportunity for growth and innovation, and I strive to use this knowledge to inspire others.
I want the world to know that anything is possible with dedication and perseverance. The power to shape your destiny lies within you, and it is up to each individual to make that choice. My art is a reflection of this belief, and I hope to encourage others to embrace their potential and pursue their passions wholeheartedly.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d plan an epic itinerary for some fun!
**Day 1: Houston Museum District**
We’d kick things off at the Houston Museum District, checking out the Museum of Fine Arts and the Natural Science Museum. Brunch at The Raven Grill would definitely be on the menu!
**Day 2: Discovery Green**
Next up, we’d hang out at Discovery Green, perfect for a chill picnic and some outdoor fun. For dinner, we’d head to The Grove to enjoy the city views.
**Day 3: Foodie Day**
I’d dedicate a day to exploring Houston’s food scene, hitting up awesome spots like Ninfa’s on Navigation and Pho Binh for a tasty food tour.
**Day 4: Moody Gardens**
We could take a trip to Moody Gardens in Galveston, checking out the aquarium and rainforest exhibits. Fresh seafood at The Spot would be a must!
**Day 5: The Heights**
Then it’s off to The Heights for some cool shops and a cozy breakfast at Common Bond Café & Bakery, followed by live music at White Oak Music Hall.
**Day 6: Breweries and Bars**
We’d explore local breweries like Saint Arnold and Buffalo Bayou, wrapping up the night with drinks at The Moonlight Room for those great views.
**Day 7: Sports Vibes**
Finally, we’d catch a game at Minute Maid Park or NRG Stadium, then celebrate the week with dinner at Pappadeaux’s Seafood Kitchen.
It would be an unforgettable week filled with great food, awesome sights, and tons of fun!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to thank my friend and mentor Mike Packer of Packers Tattoo shop for having belief in me and helping me begin this career of mine.
