Meet April Graybill | Owner of Integrity Hair Studio

We had the good fortune of connecting with April Graybill and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi April, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
My daily habits are the foundation of my success — both personally and professionally. Every morning, I wake up early and start with quiet time: reading the Bible, praying, and journaling in complete silence. That connection to God centers me for the day ahead.
I also believe in expressing creativity daily — whether it’s trying something new with my hair or makeup, styling an outfit, or following an inspired idea in the moment. Consistency, honesty, and self-awareness are key habits I practice. I hold myself accountable, admit when I’m wrong, and do my best to make it right as soon as I recognize it.
Giving back is non-negotiable for me. I always give at least 10% of my income to my church or charity — it comes first. I also strive to be of service to others, freely giving what I’ve been given.
I do my best to put myself in others’ shoes, release bitterness, and forgive quickly — because true freedom is in forgiveness. I make a plan, but I stay flexible and open to flow and communication.
Most importantly, I keep God first, family second, and everything else after that. I’m willing to do whatever God asks of me, even when it stretches me. I take notes, face problems head-on, and ask for help when I need it. I try to show up every day with love and compassion — and that has made all the difference.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m the owner of Integrity Hair Studio, a private luxury salon experience based in Houston. My business was born from the desire to create something deeper than surface-level beauty — a space rooted in faith, honesty, and care, where people feel safe to truly be themselves.
What sets my studio apart is the intention behind it. I’m not just providing hair services — I’m building long-term relationships based on trust, transformation, and total presence. Whether it’s a blonding service, extensions, or a Brazilian blowout, every experience is customized and private. My goal is to make every client feel not only beautiful, but also grounded and seen.
Getting here wasn’t easy. I moved through a lot of salons, always rising to the top quickly but never quite finding the right fit. I saw a lot of problematic leadership and poor training, and I knew I wanted to do things differently. I had a vision in my heart, the savings to start small, and enough faith to take the leap — so I did.
The journey has been full of ups and downs. Balancing creativity, business decisions, and personal life is never simple — especially as a mom. But I’ve learned to face challenges head-on, ask for help, stick to my values, and trust that God will provide. I’ve also learned the power of boundaries, forgiveness, and staying true to your vision even when it’s hard.
What I want the world to know is this: Beauty is more than appearance — it’s a feeling. It’s confidence, care, connection, and creativity. That’s what I build at Integrity Hair Studio. My business is faith-led, heart-centered, and built on the belief that when you show up with love and integrity, you attract exactly who you’re meant to serve.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting Houston, I’d plan a week full of beautiful moments — nourishing, inspiring, fun, and a little bit elevated. I love experiences that mix connection, creativity, good food, and nature. Here’s how we’d spend the week:
Day 1:
Start with church with the family, then a peaceful day spent out in nature — maybe at Terry Hershey Park or Hermann Park with picnic vibes. we’d stop by a local organic market and spend the evening cooking a meal at home together, music playing, kids helping, and lots of laughter in the kitchen.
Day 2:
Brunch at Tiny Boxwoods (a must for the garden vibes), followed by some wandering around The Menil Collection or Rothko Chapel for something quiet, soulful, and grounding. Sunset walk at Buffalo Bayou Park to end the day.
Day 3:
A shopping day in The Heights — exploring local boutiques at M-K-T, unique finds at Manready Mercantile, and a sweet treat from Sweet Bribery. Evening dinner at Blue fish for an upscale but cozy night out leading into a show with The Houston symphony or local Opera house for a dose of culture and beauty.
Day 4:
Beach day! We’d head to Galveston for a slow morning by the water, stop for seafood on the way back, and end the evening with a family game night with lots of fun snacks, cozy pjs, and laughter!
Day 5:
A little thrift adventure in Montrose — hitting some vintage shops, getting tacos at Velvet Taco, and then heading out to Museum of Fine Arts or The Houston Botanic Garden. Dinner at The Original Ninfa’s for iconic Tex-Mex.
Day 6:
We’d start with a blowout and self-care day at Integrity Hair Studio, obviously. 😉 After that, I’d take them to Antidote for a lavender latte and a pastry, followed by a casual dinner at Local Foods — everything is fresh, seasonal, and Houston-chic.
Day 7:
Wind down with Through good Coffee, a little stroll through The Galleria. For dinner, we’d head to Little Rey’s, where the kids can play and we can relax. The chill, family-friendly outdoor vibe is perfect for wrapping up the day with good food and even better company.
Houston has such a rich, vibrant energy, but it also has pockets of calm, creativity, and warmth that I love. It’s not just a place to visit — it’s a place to feel.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The love of Jesus being forgiven able to forgive and truly experiencing freedom. My family’s love, generosity, and acceptance of me warts and all! My children who push me to be a better human.
