We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlee Jeter and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashlee, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind my business was to create products for sensitive skin. I personally have an autoimmune disease and it became important to me at that time to be more mindful of what I put into and on my body. I figured if I could make products that help me, then I could help others too.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a chemical engineer and I currently work a chemical plant in the Houston area. While in college, I networked a lot and completed internships every summer, which helped me grow professionally. The journey to becoming an engineer wasn’t easy, there were definitely some classes that made me second guess if I could do it lol. It took a lot of late study nights, professor office hours, and just choosing to not give up! One lesson I’ve learned is that things are not always going to come easy, so if you want it bad enough, you’re going to have to work for it. Another lesson I’ve learned specifically since becoming an entrepreneur is that everyone you know won’t support you and that’s okay. Don’t let that discourage you and stop you from sharing your gift with the world.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many places to choose from, this is going to be hard lol. These are in no particular order,

Eat/drink options: Day 6 Coffee, Pur Noire, Karne Steakhouse, The Warwick, The Rustic, Grace’s, Trill Burgers, The Breakfast Klub, Davis street

Visit: Puttery Houston, Be Elevated Candle Bar, Smashed Clay, Top Golf, Cidercade, Indoor Skydiving

Sports: Astros, Rockets, Texans

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize my parents and brother! They are the ones that encouraged me to start the entrepreneur journey. My parents are always willing to try my new creations during the trial stages and my brother has helped me with creating my website. I’d also like to shoutout my customers, they spread the word about my business and often times share my posts on their social media pages.
