Meet Ashleigh King | Aesthetician in-training & Content Marketer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashleigh King and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashleigh, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Going into 2025, and being a brand-new Houston resident, I had this strong feeling that it was time to try something new, something for myself. I’ve worked in the Aesthetics industry before and always knew I wanted to come back to it, but only if I could do it on my own terms. Deciding to enroll in Aesthetician school and start Assemblé Aesthetics was about creating space for that: to build something I’m proud of, something that reflects my vision, my values, and creativity.
If I was going to dive back in, I wanted to go all in and to do things intentionally, connect with clients on a real level, and surround myself with people in the industry who inspire me. I wanted to wake up and love what I do every day. That’s what pushed me to start.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I love most about the Aesthetics industry is the chance to be the best part of someone’s day. It’s such a privilege to play that kind of role in people’s lives, and I’m so excited to offer that experience through Assemblé Aesthetics.
What sets me apart is how deeply I care about the experience and the result. Nothing I do is rushed or surface-level. Whether it’s a lash lift, brow lamination, or a full skincare journey, I want you to feel 100% happy, not just with how you look, but with how you feel walking out the door. My promise is to be patient, to listen, and to work with you, not just on you.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and this brand, it’s that Assemblé Aesthetics is about connection, trust, and care. I’m building something that I hope clients feel a part of, not just something they come to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love this question because I’ve completely fallen in love with Houston’s food and cocktail scene…there’s always something new popping up. If my best friend was visiting, we’d start with a morning walk through Memorial Park or along Buffalo Bayou. We’d grab coffee from Lala Land before heading to a Pilates class at Method or a Barry’s bootcamp class if we’re feeling bold.
For meals, I’d make sure we hit all my go-to spots: Katami for sushi, il Bracco for dinner, Little Pappasito’s for classic Tex-Mex, Truth BBQ for comfort food, and a steak night at Steak 48.
When it comes to cocktails, I’d line up a mix of moody lounges and patios: Clarkwood, Permission, Starduster, Anvil/Refuge, Bobcat Teddy’s, EZ’s, Shady Acres, Melrose. Each one has its own vibe, and you really can’t go wrong.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are honestly so many people I could shout out, this journey has definitely not been a solo one. But my biggest inspiration for taking this leap has to be Taylor Catlett from High Desert Esthetics. She is the blueprint for solo Estheticians and is the person who inspired me to take the leap for myself.
Melinda Leyva has also played a massive role in my interest in the industry; she is a true Master Aesthetician and does incredible work with her patients.
I also have to shout out Jared Rohrer of Aesthetic Conversion. He’s always believed in my potential and has reminded me, more times than I can count, that I have something valuable to offer.
And of course, none of this would be happening without my incredible boyfriend, Drew. His support has meant everything to me. Starting something new isn’t easy, but having people who cheer you on through every stage makes all the difference.
