Meet Ashley Cottrell | Makeup Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Cottrell and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, how does your business help the community?
As an artist for over ten years my makeup business Makeup by Ash has impacted the world in a positive, beautiful, and inspiring way. God has truly called me to be an instrument to the community and beauty industry nationwide. I am able to uplift, encourage, and empower women of all nationalities, backgrounds, and age brackets internally and externally through the beautification process. It’s like you are coming for a flawless makeup application but you leave restored, healed, and made whole. My brand has catapulted many women not only in my community but all over the world. What a great honor it is to move and operate in excellence while doing what God has destined you to do. I look forward to seeing my work impact the nation as I continue this strategic journey. Beauty is truly my business.

What should our readers know about your business?
My business Makeup by Ash has been blessed and anointed by God himself.. He gets all of the glory because he is the head of my life. What sets Makeup by Ash apart from other brands is the authentic love for the people that I possess and carry with great joy and honor. As I can remember growing up I always had a passion to love and care for others and I incorporate that in my business constantly. I always strive to stay positive and faithful to my clients as they intrust me to service them with an infectious smile and a pure heart. I’m so excited about the reputation my brand has built over the years. I have worked diligently in my community and shed blood, sweat, and tears. Hard work always pays off. Though there have been challenges as a business owner always faces I have enjoyed every second of my makeup career. When God calls you to operate in you’re gifts and talents it won’t be a struggle to succeed. I would love for the world to know that my makeup memoir Makeup by Ash is truly an inspiring movement for all of the generations to come. When you dream big you will always receive big. I would want them to apply the scripture Philippians 4:13 to their everyday life. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area I would definitely take her downtown to Magnolia to enjoy the Silos. I enjoy the rustic country scenery and all it has to offer. It’s so peaceful and relaxing which is a game changer for me. As far as eating areas I would definitely recommend taking my best friend to Ichiban to sit at the Hibachi Grill and enjoy some great food. The atmosphere is classy and breathtakingly beautiful. Those are some of my favorite places in my hometown of Waco, Tx so I’m sure my best friend would enjoy it thoroughly.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
As I reflect on my inspiring testimony as an artist I give my mother her accolades and recognition for being a pilar to my success.. I must give my mother Treffhanie Cottrell her flowers as it pertains to all of my accomplishments. She has always supported my vision and brand and pushed me past my comfort zone and capacity. Whether I had one supporter or one hundred she has always spoke life over my makeup brand. From being my travel assistant to washing my brushes when I was too fatigued to even move she has been there through it all. Her faith in me is extremely amazing and I am truly blessed to share this journey with the woman who birth me. She is my rock and I love her with every fiber of my being. Hats off to my special angel!
