Meet Ashley Gelin | Model & Microinfluencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Gelin and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I used to be a workaholic! I would work extra hours and sometimes stress myself out because I thought the more time I put in the more my work would be valued. I realized I was going to burn myself out if I continued to think this way. Balance is so important, it is one thing to be invested in your work but it is equally important to take care of yourself and share moments with your loved ones. You will be much more efficient when you refill your cup. Take your PTO, find ways to stay active, and still make time to make beautiful memories with the ones you love.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me a part is that I am truly appreciative of all those who help bring the vision together. Whether it be the makeup artist, photographer or set crew. I love helping someone bring the vision for their brand to life. It warms my heart to see them succeed.
It took a while to get to where I am today (signed model) and getting paid work. I still have not reached the pinnacle I plan to reach. I do not think it is easy to break into the modeling industry especially in smaller markets. The most important lesson I learned is when i stopped doubting myself and selling myself short. This is when I saw the most success. The moment I started believing in myself and stopped comparing things started to change for me.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I first want to thank God, my therapist, and my amazing friends and family. They all have helped shape me into the woman I am today. I also want to give a huge shoutout to the amazing creatives I have met along the way and the lasting impact they have had on my life.
