Meet Ashley Sassone | Notary Public & Loan Signing Agent

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Sassone and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I’ve worked in real estate industry for almost 15 years, and I learned that a “preferred notary” isn’t traditionally considered an integral part of the real estate transaction. Real estate agents have preferred lenders, preferred home inspectors, but what about preferred notaries? When I discover this, it was an “an-ha moment”, and got excited to elevate the notary experience and bring more awareness to the importance of this profession. For lenders, the Notary Signing Agent is the critical link to completing the real estate transaction. And for real estate agents, this is the person who will be sitting across the closing table with their client. Choosing a notary you can trust, and be able to perform error-free signings will ensure their clients can close on time.

What should our readers know about your business?
There are so many niches that a notary public can specialize in. The two I focus primarily on are loan signings and estate planning documents. With a background in real estate, it was a natural course for me to take. My professionalism, industry knowledge and attention detail are qualities that set me apart. The relationships I have with title companies, brokerages and attorneys are the foundation of my business, and it is of upmost importance that I provide their clientele with a superior signing experience. I want the world to know that when they select me as their preferred notary, I become an extension of their business and help drive a successful client experience.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anyone who visits me in Houston is absolutely going out for fajitas and margaritas at El Tiempo as the first stop. After that, we’ll walk off lunch by visiting a Bucees to get the full local experience. (When I tell family and friends we are going to a gas station, their reactions are priceless). Once we’ve done our shopping and snacking on praline pecans, we’ll head to Minute Maid Park to catch an Astro’s game. And to end the night, we’ll stop by St. Arnold’s Brewery for drinks and a great view of downtown Houston.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without a doubt, my husband is my biggest supporter. When I brainstormed the idea of starting my own notary service, he immediately saw the potential of the business model I was creating. Whether it’s advise I’m seeking, strategizing my brand, or general input on tasks I’m working on, he always provides sound guidance.
