We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Victoria and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I’ve battled with acne-prone skin since an adolescent and have always been passionate about skin care since I can remember. In 2012, I attended Aveda Institute to pursue my esthetic career and immediately started working for a couple different plastic surgeons in their medical spa practice. I instantly knew I made the right decision as I was eager to learn more about the industry and attended several conferences to boost my knowledge. In 2017, my entrepreneur journey began and Beautopia Skin Studio was born.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Beautopia Skin Studio is not your traditional “medical spa” our aesthetic is very warm and inviting instead of cold and sterile. The moment you step foot into our charming bungalow, you’ll feel right at home. We pride ourselves in building relationships with each of our clients. Our goal is to help you achieve your skin care goals by customizing a treatment plan and guiding you to healthier – clearer skin.

When you take the leap of faith and open a business, there will always be adversities that you face. Without these obstacles, I believe my business would not be as successful as it is. I welcome the challenge(s) as this has allowed me to grow personally and professionally. Being a solopreneur for many years, I wore all the hats and was at the point of burn out. I’ve realized that having a team is a must if you want your business to grow and succeed. Delegate in order to elevate!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This will definitely depend on my mood that day – more than likely, I would take them to a few local dive bars or if we want to dance (which is rare lol) Etro 80’s club is right up my alley!

Who doesn’t love a good Texmex spot – I’ll take a spicy margarita with tajin on the rim please. *drools*

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Oh wow, I have several loved ones in my life that I could shoutout! Lets start with the people that created me, my parents – although my Dad was fearful that my business would fail and loved to remind me that I would not have insurance (scarcity mindset). I’ve always had mentors throughout my career which I’m extremely grateful for. To this day, I still have 1-2 mentors that I meet with regularly and can call on for business advice. I’m all about personal development so I’m constantly listening to podcast or audiobooks as I’m on the go and cannot sit still to read more than one chapter of a book.. 😉
