Meet Ashlie Jenkins | Licensed esthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashlie Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlie, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process of starting my own business was scary but this is what I have a passion for. A lot of thoughts on if I can do this, will I be successful, how can I continue to be successful, how do I overcome the difficult stages in running a business, how can my “mistakes” become lessons. Overcoming the “what ifs” was the hardest part but I managed to get the bad thoughts that came up out of my head and went for it. Only lessons and room for growth not failures!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I feel what sets me apart from other businesses is the vibe I offer! When you come into my suite you feel welcomed, it’s a no judge zone, comfortable, and just a whole vibe! You can vent, cry, laugh, scream if you want to, or if you want a silent appointment that’s fine too. The conversation is always great and nothing is off limits. From the start of your appointment to the end my goal is to make your service one to remember and pleasant experience!
It was not easy getting to where I am today and still have a ways to go! I just stayed motivated and have a positive attitude. It’s always a plus having people in my corner who are about me and support me wholeheartedly with no ill intent or hidden agendas! I feel like if I gave up I would be giving up on myself and what I want to accomplish. I also want to show my children they can do anything no matter what obstacles may stand in their way or what they may face in life.
I make my own body butters, body oils, rose water and body scrubs, while waxing, sugaring, facials, working a full-time job and being a super mom. I will be adding more services soon so be on the lookout. My story isn’t over it’s just beginning!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m really a homebody! I have so many hobbies that keep me busy I rarely go out but if we were to go anywhere, my favorite place to visit would be taterque in Pflugerville. They have a great vibe and everyday there is something different going on. They also have karaoke on Thursdays that I really enjoy. We would go to our indoor waterpark we have in Round Rock called Kalahari. We would have to find fun on other days or a nice movie night at the domain or just have a good vibe at the house and catch up.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My family! My children to start, I have three beautiful little humans and if I didn’t have them I don’t think I would grind and push so hard to be successful. My sister, who encourages me more than anyone! She’s been in my corner motivating and encouraging me from the start. On days when I wanted to throw in the towel she was there letting me know there is light at the end of my tunnel. My mom who I’m pretty sure has gray hairs from financially supporting my dreams and also not giving up on me and believing in me! I have many other family members to thank my pops, my uncle, my aunt, my grandmother and my closest friends who always give me strength to continue going forward. I appreciate my village. It’s small but it’s so strong!
