We had the good fortune of connecting with Audrey Stevens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Audrey, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
God, family, success and failures. They all have their place. Most important, grit and grace.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Tia Nana’s Authentic Salsa is a female owned small business and was established in 2011. Tia Nana’s is a homemade and authentic salsa. I started making salsa as a fundraiser to assist our son with Autism. After I accomplished this goal, I was encouraged to start a salsa business. What sets us apart is our story of our WHY. We believe that when you succeed in your endeavors, you then help others succeed in their endeavors. Tia Nana’s is an active community partner, advocate and friend to small business owners. It’s a daily mission to grow our communities. It starts with us. What we do together makes us ALL stronger. What we are most proud of or excited about is how our salsa makes so many people happy. Our salsa is a conversation starter and that is amazing. We get a giggle and heart filled when clients share they love our salsa. Life is our biggest teacher if you are willing to learn from it. I have a background in sales & marketing, human resources, project management, public relations and on. Most of my professional career led to the success of being a business owner. It was not always easy. Having tools to get from place to place made it easier. We overcome challenges with determination, perseverance and dedication. You have to know what you want, the desire to make it happen, and the grit and grace to get you from point A to Z. In the hard times, which we all have something that can trigger a plateau in our mission, we have to make time to reset, refocus and start again.

What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?
Tia Nana’s is the real deal. Our brand is unique and authentic. We provide a show stopping salsa. We have fun creating a vibe for the dinner table. Our story is a story of perseverance and paying it forward.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We enjoy dining at the Oasis on Lake Travis and all the scenic views of the hill country and lake. We also love spending time at South Fork Fun, Food & Brew in Georgetown, Texas for amazing outdoor fun, food and live music. The most exciting thing to do in Texas is lake fun. You cannot pass up our beautiful Lake Georgetown for boating, swimming and hiking.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We dedicate our shout out to fellow business owners. We all support each other and spend time learning each other’s why. When you support small business you are supporting a family with a big vision to provide in many ways.
