We had the good fortune of connecting with Austyn Styles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Austyn, what role has risk played in your life or career?
Risks are vital and necessary actions taken in order to get what you want out of life. Without risk there’s no reward and nothing worth having in this life will come easy. Risks play a major role in my life, both personally and my career. My definition of a risk is defined as a situation involving exposure to an unfamiliar opportunity. These unfamiliar opportunities are why I am in my current position in life. Personally I accomplish more when I feel uncomfortable and my back is against the wall, because I see pure opportunity when others see obstacles. That is what motivates me to reach my goals and dig deep. When we take big risks and expose ourselves to new ventures we fight harder to come out on top and that drive is what steers us to make it successfully. I have learned as an entrepreneur running my companies that you will never grow just playing it safe. I have taken risks in the past couple of years that have put my companies in better positions. Keep in mind all risks taken will not always turn out positive. When this happens always take those failures as teachable moments / experiences and after that fall get back up. For me the only failure that is guaranteed is failing to take risks. When it comes to success there is nothing like having a dream then working hard to make it reality.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As an Entrepreneur I run two different companies the first one is Fashion League Styles which is a fashion interviewing business for pro athletes. This platform is aimed at highlighting your favorite professional athletes style and outlook on fashion. Also it is to give the fans a chance to go behind the “seam” with exclusive interviews. My second business is my exclusive clothing line Austyn Styles where I drop limited collections that are solely based and inspired by mood. The goal of my line is to just be diverse and create collections that show versatility. The biggest thing that sets me apart from others is my willingness to sacrifice any and everything to make my dreams reality. I am very excited about growth in my brands I am ready to see what’s in store for my upcoming endeavors. I got to where I am professionaly by staying focused on the bigger picture. When I have a goal set I never let up all gas no breaks until I accomplish what I set. These accomplishments weren’t easy they took time, focus, and dedication. On top of being a full time Civl Engineer those three things made it that much harder to get things off the ground. Getting past the thought of failure was my biggest obstacle, but having faith in yourself and vision will take you through any obstacle placed in your path. I have learned time is the most valuable thing that you cannot get back in life so don’t waist it wondering or being hesitant. Pull the trigger and chase what your heart desires. I want the world to know Fashion League Styles and Austyn Styles are more than brands they are empires in the making.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well first to eat and drink we gotta touch Pappadeaux one of my favorite seafood places and Gringos a tex-mex place drinks are A1. I can’t forget going to get a daiquiri from candy shack i’m not extravagent when it comes to food I’m very simple. As a sneaker head we have to hit a couple of shoe spots like Sneaker Summit, The Closet, and Social Status. To hang and chill id say we go to town lake and hop on the boat and to just tap in to our roots we would hit the barn and ride the horses around Acres Homes or pull out the dirt bikes.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Let me start by given credit to the man upstairs, he has made this all possible for me as I am nothing without him. I would also like to thank my family and friends, always supporting me to the fullest. Making sure I give my all no matter the venture. They help me realize I am deserving of the success I am aiming for even when I don’t feel that I am. Lastly, I would like to thank my Brother and business partner Vann Styles “The best stylist out of Houston” for helping me realize my path In this business. He encouraged me to take my time and create my own destiny when it comes to this fashion stuff we do. In the beginning I wanted to just get something out without truly taking my time and mastering what I wanted my brand to represent. My brother told me straight up he wasn’t going to just let me put out just anything. He inspired me to get in the lab and put In the work to come up with the quality and vision that people expect from the Style Boyz. I am forever indebted to all of them for being apart of my journey.
