We had the good fortune of connecting with B. Music and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi B. Music, why did you pursue a creative career?
Music has always been a passion of mine. Started at the age of 15 writing and producing been doing it for 10 plus years. It has been a way to express my feelings my pain my joy and also a way to talk about things i see in the world and my community.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a artist and producer i try to have my own sound and do things to set myself apart from others. Often times i hear that rap is so saturated so for me to make a difference is very necessary to things my own way and not try to sound or follow anyone’s footsteps. I get inspired by many legendary artists but i try to have my own voice and do what i can to be unique with it. Which at the end of the day that’s what set these artists and producers apart the fact that they stayed in their lane and did things differently from others. So far its worked for me because is good to hear that when they listen to my music they can hear the difference and also that i don’t sound like nothing that’s typically on the radio or what they hear from the mainstream music. I have nothing against mainstream outlets but if im going to make it there i want to make it by being myself and not putting up a front or make music for the sake of being accepted. Anything i do im going to make sure my heart and my personality are in it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If i was coming back from a trip or maybe a tour i would like to most definitely get me sum good food!. For that i would go back to my old neighborhood to a taco truck and get me sum good tacos can never go wrong with tacos right?. For me it doesn’t take much to unwind. I just need a good food and a few drinks with my people.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I really would thank the ones the have believed in me and has stuck with me this whole time. From my close circle of friends and family to the ones Ive met through the years and have stayed down and showed me support. To the ones who Ive learned a lot from through out the years. To the ones who i have worked with in this business being podcasts, artists, radio hosts and anyone in between. It really means the world to me and i hope im able to pay back the support y’all have giving me in one way or another sooner or later.
