We had the good fortune of connecting with Bailey McAndrew and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bailey, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
With my background in film (and Dillan’s background in photography) you are never guaranteed a job. We wanted a chance to take control of our futures and give ourselves opportunities. What started as a late night thought drawn up on a white board in my bedroom, quickly turned into the blooming production company we own today. It’s actually funny how things work out. We originally created a business outline for a social media marketing agency. We had solid plans and were talking to potential clients about running their social platforms. We knew we wanted to do SOMETHING with our film and photography background so we offered promotional videos to these potential clients and that’s what stuck! When we had a schedule full of promo videos being made for clients, we decided to re-think our original plan. Now, since Daily Productions launched October 2019, we have both been able to fully invest ourselves into the growth of Daily Productions and have plans to expand in the near future. I think it’s important to take control of your own destiny. No matter how scary it may seem, Something great will come of pushing forward. Open your own doors instead of sitting around and waiting for someone to open them for you.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Well, my journey started with a love for acting. Right after I graduated high school I jumped into auditions and filming. I perused my acting career for four solid years and decided it was time to go to school. My intuition led me to New York Film Academy where I ended up meeting my boyfriend and business partner, Dillan. I graduated with a degree in film and Dillan in photography. We moved around for about 2 years trying to find a place to settle until I decided to start perusing acting again. I came back to Houston and Dillan shortly followed. We were working part time jobs for a while until we up late one night talking about our future and were tired of working for other people in jobs that had nothing to do with what we loved. We took down the white board an drew a business outline. We always have room for learning but of the biggest lessons for us so far has been that it’s okay to say no! As a fresh business you will have plenty of people looking down on you and trying to tell you that you aren’t going to get anywhere without them. You can be a great, awesome, kind person but when someone starts disrespecting you or your business, know that it’s okay to tell them no. Don’t let anyone bully you into giving them free services. Know your worth and stand your ground. Now, this advice is only for those who are truly getting taken advantage of. If it’s a fault of your own and someone is trying to tell you that, you may need to hire a customer service representative! Haha! Our brand is all about helping other’s businesses bloom through good quality visual marketing. “Growth is never by mere chance; it is the result of forces working together.” Like Mr, James Cash Penny, we believe in the power of helping each other grow.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
IF we were able to visit with our friends (stupid COVID), we would accommodate them at our place. I am all about art so I would make plans to visit all the museums downtown, head to buffalo bayou to bike on the trails, see if theres a live concert at discovery green and take them to see the skyline at a rooftop bar or the awesome views from The Houston Club. We would go paddle boarding on lake woodlands, shopping at Market Street and show them all our favorite coffee shops like Grinders and Giant Leap! Being a vegan I would obviously take them to try some vegan food restaurants that’ll make you never think about picking up a cow meat burger again (shout-out Korny Vibes and Wisdom’s Vegan Bakery)! Houston offers so many amazing luxuries. I love this city! Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My successes would not be so great without the support of my mother. When I started my acting journey she not only fully supported it but drove me to auditions, stayed on sets overnight with me, provided me with any and everything I needed to make my dreams come true and never asked for anything in return. I owe it all to her.
