We had the good fortune of connecting with Beata Bober/Gorzkowski and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beata, how do you define success?
Success in business to me means doing what you love. You don’t feel like it’s work as long as you enjoy doing what you do. Being successful to me is not just about the money but about the quality of your time. Don’t get me wrong money is great and we all need and enjoy it. However, doing what I love and working from home where I can be near my family and my animals means everything to me.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My adventure with art did not start until I was in my 30s. I think I was always creative but it took me a long time to actually call myself an artist. For awhile, I refinished furniture and was able show my painting techniques on the pieces I was working on. And then came resin – how I really found it I truly don’t remember. But what I do remember is countless hours and money I spent on messing it up but trying my best. And now it’s the medium I use most and I absolutely love it. Since it does require me to wear a mask and for health reasons I can’t do it all the time. I have to take breaks. I do abstract art and make jewelry during my break time. I just love to stay busy. I found my art and my creativity is what helps me get through life’s difficult moments. It’s a form of therapy. My biggest dream was to create art that anyone could own small or large. Now that I am able to do that I feel very accomplished.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmmm there is so much to do and see in Houston. I guess we would start with the museum and the zoo. But then visiting the privet galleries and try some great Mexican food that we have in the city. Ultimately spending time together will be most important whether we are out and about it just chilling by the pool at home.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this shoutout interview to my two amazing sons Piotr and Michal and my future husband Michael for always loving ,supporting me and for their daily encouragement.
