We had the good fortune of connecting with Beatrice Brigitte and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beatrice, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was primarily focused on doing things differently in Hollywood. It’s not so much about what we do, but HOW we do it. The industry has a very interesting way of doing business, especially dominating artists and controlling a lot of the output. The Arcane Company is focused on creating an ethically focused environment and is strict on doing things right from the get-go. Being in the industry for over a decade, in front of and behind the camera, I have a good idea of the ins and outs and continue to learn more every day. Teaching myself more about what not to do leads to a path of honesty in a realm of illusion.
What should our readers know about your business?
My art is storytelling. How I accomplish that is through film. From writing to having a vision and executing that vision as a director and producer. Now to answer how I got to where I am today is by having perseverance and never giving up. In this industry, the name of the game is “no” and as an artist, you have integrity and be creative in how you will get your vision onto the big screen for the world to see. My storytelling will always uncover you, the viewers’ truth. It’s not for me to tell you what to think and how to think, but for you to make that conclusion by simply watching my work.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would start by taking them to the best coffee shop in town, which is “FIX Coffeebar” in Montrose. I’d probably take them there every morning, that’s how good they are. Then we’d go to Memorial Park for a beautiful, serene walk. For lunch, Tiny’s Boxwood, followed by doing an infrared sauna and facials across the street at Switch2Pure. During their stay, I’d take them to the museum district. So much art and its exhibits are some of the best-kept secrets in the states. Houston’s art collection is out of this world. The Rothko Chapel would be another must-see and then go to Rice University to see James Turrell’s Twilight Epiphany Skyspace. For dinners, we’d go to Le Jardinier in the museum district, Soto in Montrose for sushi, or Hamsa in Rice Village for their incredible kebab skewers.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. We are nothing without others. My success has a lot to do with the unwavering support of my family. Specifically Charles and Isabella Reimer (My Stepfather and mother). And of course my husband. I wouldn’t be where I am and who I am without them.
