We had the good fortune of connecting with Becky White and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Becky, do you have any habits that you feel contribute to your effectiveness?
Habits are very important. And knowing that my nature is to be wild and undisciplined, I am laborious in my effort to maintain a routine on the foundational aspects of my day. I work out 5 to 6 days a week, I maintain close personal relationships with my family and best friends, I give the first two hours of every day to myself whether that be through a work out or learning more about my business or business in general, or spending time with my children. I’ make sure to review my work daily, always assessing for how I could’ve done something better but also looking for improvement in my technique, so it’s a balanced assessment.
What should our readers know about your business?
Becky Does Botox is a medical aesthetics community in the greater Houston area that supports individuals in being everything they can be through the use of beauty supporting and enhancing tools and techniques. I strive every day to show the people who come to me, through transparency and truth, who I am and that we don’t need anyone’s fucking permission to be exactly who we are. Some of us are just beginning that journey, some of us are on the journey, and some of us have been on the journey for a while. Becky Does Botox is all about not asking for permission to be exactly who the fuck you are. And we support everybody to figure that out for themselves. It may not sound a whole lot like medical aesthetics, but there’s such a negative stigma around getting botox and fillers done, That I’ve just seen that why are we shaming people for wanting to do something better for themselves. Botox has very beautiful long-term effects of helping your skin stay bright and soft, who wouldn’t want that? And adding a little bit of filler to an area that has lost volume can literally transform someone’s self-esteem and change how they show up in the world. Why wouldn’t we want to do that?
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Omggggg I love food!! And Houston is a hands-down, the epicenter of culture and all that is right with our beautiful blue dot. If someone is in town for a week, then we are definitely visiting Buffalo Bayou for a morning run/walk. Have to, have to, have to do a run through downtown. Running through all of the skyscrapers, singing the city of Houston Townhall, running through the theater district, it’s all so magnificent, The waterfalls, the greenery, the graffiti walls, are just exquisite. And there are so many food options, so for sure we would visit my favorites, Sorrento’s on Westheimer, especially for their Apple tart, Niños on West Dallas, Sweet Paris Crêperie in the Village, and aBouzy! There’s always something happening on Discovery Green, so we would definitely stop by there. And absolutely we would catch some thing at the Alley. Aannnddd CHERRY BAR!! On main downtown. So. Much. Fun. Ask me about the time my friend Shannon and I went and had to be rescued from the guys we were with lol
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There is no way possible that I would be where I am today if it wasn’t for many, many people along my journey that have supported myself and my children in someway. I have many mentors, strong women that have been pillars in my life including two of my aunts, my aunt Diane and my aunt Darlene, and now I have a beautiful group of women that have risen around me including my three very best friends, and my daughters, Destiny and Antasia.
Likewise, in the business sector, I have had much guidance along the way. I believe in mentorship and I tell people regularly, I don’t just make friends, I take hostages. I believe in relationships and I know that really connecting with people in a very deep way is what matters, and that includes with my mentors. I have two physician mentors as well as a business executive mentor who guide me on my path to success in the medical aesthetics world, and beyond.
