We had the good fortune of connecting with Beth Lancaster and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Beth, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
When things get stressful and feel overwhelming, I always remind myself of one of my favorite quotes said by RuPaul: “Don’t take life too seriously and have fun.” He has so many great pieces of advice. Another favorite: “And If I fly or if I fall, at least I can say I gave it all.”
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Urban Float is a wellness center focused on floatation therapy. Each visitor gets his/her own suite with a float pod, shower and amenities. For 60 minutes. guests will float in 10 inches of water with 1,200 pounds of epsom salt which delivers mental, emotional and physical benefits. Floating helps guests disconnect with clinically proven results including stress and anxiety relief, workout recovery, pain reduction, and improved mental focus. People always ask who our typical guest is…we get all types of people from yogis to business professionals to athletes to doctors. The one thing they all have in common: they understand the importance of wellness…they believe in taking time for themselves to recover and recharge.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My number one shoutout goes to my husband, Ben. He is the power and drive behind our business. We’ve had many ups and downs with operating a small business, but he remains positive and always looks for creative solutions. He has an incredible analytical mind and his attention to detail is beyond normal. I’ve learned so many important lessons from him. A shoutout goes out to my girlfriends who have endured many, many business conversations. They are always there to listen and give great advice. A shoutout goes to my father-in-law, Jon. He is very business savvy and has helped us with numerous decisions. He is always willing to talk with us and poses the right questions that allow us to think through outcomes. We’ve learned so much from him.
